So I got my finiancial aid letter today. I knew I was getting $2,800 because I had asked at the financial aid office.
I knew that there was going to be another check in the spring. I didn't know that that check would be for an additional $2,800, making a grand total of $5,600. (This is not including the fee waiver from the college itself, which comes to about $550.)
Throw this all together, it means that about two-thirds of my rent is paid for me until next summer's session is over. I still need to come up with the rest of it (as well as utilities, books, food, gas, etc.) but it's far from the spartan, brown rice and Top Ramen existence that I imagined when I thought it was $3000 for 12 months.
So I can get that haircut now. Will probably have to have the hi-speed internetz bumped down to DSL (roomate opted for the good shit, not I). Can probably make puppy-dog eyes at family and get the occasional load of groceries or lunch.
I'm gonna do this. And I think I'm gonna do okay.
