I hate to be a downer, but things tend to suck lately. I am met with frustration time and again. Every silver lining has a cloud. I need a pick-me-up in the worst way!

I'll be honest with you: there is more good than bad. But some mornings doesn't it just seem like we're trying to find our merry little way, but only running into walls?

So I had a doctor's appointment on Friday. As usual, everything went swimmingly. My numbers were all good - I'm not even anemic any longer! Friday:

• Had a job interview first thing in the morning.  I think it went well!  Cross your fingers for me.
• Went to a lovely ice cream parlor and had the best peach ice cream EVAR.  It was so tart and fresh and made with real in-season peaches.  Mmmmmmm.

So my bake sale post was a bit desperate, but things have a way of working out.  I'd like everyone to know that, while my heart was warmed at the sweet responses to help with my trouble, I've had a windfall of a tax return which will pay for the car repairs.  And now we can breathe again!  I'm sure most of you know that panic of "How can I pay for ( Read more... )

It's a crisis!    According to conservative assholes we're in the midst of a demographic crisis in which *gasp* not enough white babies are being produced!  Europe's population is shrinking!  Nevermind the growing non-white populations - they don't count, because by and large they don't innoculate their kids with conservative Christian doctrine.  ( Read more... )
