Valentine's Day

This has been the best V-day ever!

Lauren came up on Friday night and reminded me how bad I am at giving directions. When he did manage to get in, his gift to me was making food, and a thing of Dr. Pepper jelly bellies. Food consisted of Sloppy Joes made with turkey rather than beef, with mushrooms and provolone cheese melted in. It was delicious. I made him a red velvet cake, which I apologize to Critter Cove for, because I know it won't stay there long. But Lauren has something even more deadly...a heart-shaped box of bordeaux squares. I nommed one, but he knew better than to give me the box.

Waking up Saturday morning was a lazy endeavor, when we finally hopped out of bed, took a shower and were awake enough to do anything we went out walking. Lauren was looking for a coffee shop to perk himself up and I remembered that there was one downtown just as we walked towards it. Got in, got a table and looked over the menu.  Our breakfast was eggs florantine (mine without olives) and toast with coffee (I had them put raspberry into mine because I can't drink coffee straight.)
We were pretty much stuffed after that, but a few hours later we started contemplating dinner. I suggested Applebees and after a browse through Wal*Mart and the purchase of Milo and Otis we went to grab some grub. We ended up splitting a orange chicken bowl and not finishing it between the two of us. The manager came around and I swear this woman was either high or one of those overly mellow, plastic smiled demons from Buffy. She came to our table with her spiel of "Hi, I'm the manager, we really appreciate your business, Happy Valentine's day." And Lauren strikes up a small conversation with her before she goes onto the next table to give her lines.
We get back after dinner and put in the movie, which is the cutest thing on the face of the planet. Although there is no way to make a pug look cute, they tried. The kittens however were the most adorable little balls of fluff ever. I think both of us could have delt with not seeing the female eqivilents of the main characters give birth. Lauren's face when he saw the pregnant pug was priceless. After a fair amount of cuddling and snuggling it was time for Lauren to get back on the road.

And now I'm back in the dorm. Roomie is gone till Monday night probably since Monday is President's Day and we don't have classes.
I'm probably going to go to bed early and sleep for a long time.

Happy V-day everyone. I love you Lauren.

elka, holidays, love
