I don't think I want to spend that much money, or go into that much debt, without knowing what I want to get out of it at the end.

Well... in the time we've spent together, you seemed to enjoy our photo sessions. Have you ever thought you might have an interest in photography? Or modelling? If you wanted to get a feel for university life without actually enrolling in a course yet, I'm sure there are plenty of students from various fields who could use a good model.

Modelling? You don't actually think I'm good enough to be a model? I wouldn't know the first thing. I mean, I'm flattered, but... surprised. Definitely surprised. :)

Oh sweetie, we created some gorgeous pieces together. It wouldn't just have to be photography either. You could be with painters, for example, or sculptors. None of us starts off knowing anything about anything, but I think you had a knack for it *smiles* And as Ry suggested, you'd have plenty of opportunity to stick your head into any classes that called to you. It could be a really fantastic way of doing things.

I... I could.

I suppose the first thing I should do anyway is ask to go down to part time hours so that I'd actually have time for these things.

*smiles* Thank you, Renee. What would I do without you?

Hmm... well, what I can say is that it is not always what you expect. As I was growing up, I wanted to be an aid worker. You know, helping out in disaster areas and the like, rescue operations, rebuilding, charity. But now that I have Matthew, I obviously don't want work that is a risk to my life, so I turned a hobby into a job at the forge. Maybe there is something like that for you, too?

carmaline January 15 2008, 11:14:02 UTC
Yeah, I can see how that happened.

(Actually, I'm kind of glad you don't want to risk your life anymore, so yay for Matthew!)

A hobby into a career? Well, I like modelling for Renee, but I hardly think that can be turned into a career... :/

Well, I was always set on surviving! They have to keep the rescuers as safe as possible after all, otherwise it's not going to be much of a rescue ;) But still, yay for Matthew is right! Nothing is better than the life with my son.

Never say never! If you enjoy it enough, go for it! But first thing first, find out if you really like it, and just go from there. Things will go naturally as is best :)

Okay, well, I saw you talking about modelling up there, and I think it would be a really Bad Idea. It's okay if it's for your friends, but professionally, it'd different. You'll be judged entirely on what you look like, told how to do everything, just a puppet for designers and photographers and haven't you had enough of that? Haven't you had enough of people taking advantage of you? Not to mention the bitching, and the competition. And the drug culture. Justine, I don't know, anymore, if you're trying to keep away from drugs or not, but if you are like you said you were once then modelling would be really stupid.

And besides, what if you ended up working for her?

Okay. Okay. Wow, that's a lot.

I am keeping away from the drugs. You may not believe me, but I am. There's been temptation, of course there's been temptation, but I haven't given in to it. I've said no. Whatever you believe.

As for working for her... I... no. It wouldn't be like that. I never even thought of it professionally. I hardly even thought of being anyone other than Renee. And I haven't decided that that's what I want to do anyway.

But yeah. Everything you said is a good point. Thank you, for your honest opinion.
