Just something that I heard in class today that I wish I had known earlier.

I was in class the other day and my professor mentioned xenoestrogen. Basically, xenoestrogen is a chemical that is exuded from plastic and once injested lodges itself in fatty tissue (in women most often the breast. This xenoestrogen is directly linked as a leading cause of breast cancer.

So the things you can do to prevent injesting xenoestrogen (at least as much as possible) are: never ever heat up your food in plastic, particularily microwave plastic wrap and don't freeze your plastic water bottles or containers and then consume the food from them. As well, limit how much food or drink you consume from plastic. Some plastics are worse then others, as far as I can tell microwaving plastic wrap is particularily bad.

I know it's just a risk factor but with a 1 in 8 chance of getting breast cancer in my life I'm not taking any chances.

My apologies if everyone already knew about this, but it was new to me and I wish someone had told me earlier.
