Richard has always told Carla, "never give up on your dreams."
At first, she thought it was another cliche line in "the book" up until a few months ago. She knows what she wants in life, she knows what to do to achieve her goals, but something's stopping her. She grew up watching her older brother, Christopher, be so successful in almost anything he did. Whether it be school, sports.. anything he did. Chris never questioned himself. He never had a plan, he never had goals. He just had fun. Somehow, all of that "unplanning" payed off. He's doing great.
Carla has plans. She has goals, but she's struggling.

Maybe her brother did the right thing. Chris enjoyed his life. Chris lived it. All Carla did was spend her days in her room doing her homework and studying. She never really had friends growing up, but she never worked on it either. Her brother has connections and knows people. Not just any kind of people, but the ones that mattered for his future. Funny.. because he didn't plan it out. Things just happened for him.
Maybe it's not about how quickly she'll achieve her goals.. Maybe it's not about the end or the other side, if you will.. Maybe.. just maybe, it's truly about living.
