Back to Cordance...

I once met a guy on the underground that said he didn't dare read Harry Potter cause it seemed to be like crack.  This may be an apt comparison.  Shifting out of HP mode to work on my original world is tricky.

I have this weird love/hate thing going with my original novel.  I'll read it once and absolutely love it.  Then I'll read it again and think it's truly awful.  I've had this flip flop happen over months between readings but also over the course of a few days (like last week).  Trying to organize my notes now like I did with my HP fanfic and get them all on the computer for easy reference.

To get back in the mode of the world and hopefully build a little fanbase, I'm writing a serial on fictionpress set in the same world that gives the backstory for one of the four/five main characters.  I've already changed details from the character's account of her history in the novel.  But none of the plot critical stuff just tiny details.  Like I'd originally intended for her to be 30+, but the new math makes her 27-28...this annoys me for some reason.  I think it also makes a bit more literary sense for other reasons...creates more connection between the characters.

Unlike Max Sunshine...which has been shelved for the time being... (though I'm actually happy with the progress made on developing characters), I'll actually be finishing this serial on fiction press....just got no idea how long it will be.  Trying to update every Friday.  Think I may need to shift my financial blog updates to Wednesday or Thursday, since trying to do both this last week didn't work.

I've been spending a little too much time on Cafepress.  Not wasted time by any means.  The shop is doing better, and it's time to gear up for the Christmas season....but the more instant gratification of Cafepress has got me spending the lionshare of my working time there...when I should really only be putting in about an hour per day on that site.  I need to be updating Zazzle regularly...I just loath the interface.  Somewhere in there I need to work on my budgetting book again...eventually the temp will fall below 80 and "It's too hot" will no longer be a valid excuse not to work on it.  >_>
