Well I haven't posted in a while... Plus a poll

Where have we been since November? Busy! David and I had a very nice time back in Virginia with our families over the holidays. Life in pasadena is good, I bike to work most days, I Irish dance twice a week, I do yoga with my class twice a week, we have friends over for dinner frequently and we also play a lot of board games. I have really enjoyed my Montessori class this year. My classroom is set up almost exactly how I want it, the children are really getting the hand of being self directed, I'm seeing a lot of really nice work! So yay.

Unfortunately my school is severely mismanaged. In what way you might ask? Well let's see, I am the only lead teacher of what was 5 classrooms that has been here since September. The head of school was fired in January. The lease on my site is up and we don't know where we are going yet. There is talk of not being able to make payroll in March. There has been a steady drain of students which exacerbates the bill paying problem.

So what am I doing? I go to board meetings, I'm on the strategic planning committee. I talk to parents and tell them I'm here to stay. Well I'm here to stay but is there going to be a school to pay me? Very interesting...

So this moves us to the next part of my post... What should Sarah do with herself if the school goes belly up? Factors to consider... There are no other Montessori schools in the area that I would be willing to work at (at least there weren't 2 years ago), I may only be here one more academic year as David is probably graduating in May 2008. Now for audience participation! You are my friends you know me :) What should I do to pay the bills for a year if I find myself without a job in my chosen career?
