I've taken to listening to the classical station on my way to work in the mornings. I find it a very peaceful way to deal with traffic.
Mind you, I've a pretty easy commute, about 25 minutes to work door to door, 15 minutes from. No freeways, only about 10 blocks of actual traffic, as one would call it. I could take the freeway, but it would take only a few minutes less, and I feel a lot less like a tool when I can just coast through Uptown.
This morning they were playing Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony (you may remember it from Fantasia, the section with all the mythology), specifically, the adagio part (in the cartoon it's the section when Phoebus is riding across the sky and morning is breaking and all the little nymphs and centaurs are waking up).
It took me all the way from Nicollet and 26th, past our rehearsal space and our old apartment, up 3rd Street, across Washington and into the warehouse district.
And it was so beautiful to listen to with the sun rising on the city that I nearly cried.
