I just got the call from the vet.
The
FIP test came back positive.
*cries a little*
This isn't really a surprise, and doesn't change the game plan. It's just nice to know, and not have to wonder anymore.
He will have the feeding tube for the rest of his life. The vet said it was good that we put it in, because I would almost certainly not have him anymore if it weren't there, since he's still not really eating on his own. It's good that he seems happier and more comfortable. And eventually there will be a downturn.
One piece of good news, his prognosis - 4 to 9 months - is longer than some of the cancers we were concerned about. So that's a good thing, I guess.
Now it's just about spoiling him rotten.
