Delayed spring
Last week was the Spring Equinox but none of my friends and I celebrated it. Why because we had very unspring like weather and the organisers of the Spring Eq ritual were taken ill, in fact 5 of our main people were out that day. So we decided to celebrate spring today. And I'm so glad we did, because today was a truely spring like day, our celebration was fun with Birch Sap wine and chocolate eggs. Mind you the place we usually do our rituals was taken up by a circus tent and we had to move to somewhere nearby. We half expected a visitation of clowns in a car! There were lots of bawdy jokes about 'sap rising' and afterwards in the pub we put our small chocolate eggs into the cauldron and played lucky dip. I got an egg wrapped in tin foil, I unwrapped it and found an ordinary Cadbury's Cream Egg inside, this puzzled me until Quinn showed me that there was a secret message in the foil.
The message was: May your sap rise and your blossom burst! X
