I awoke this morning as excited as a child. I had one lot of presents I hadn't opened, all wrapped up in shiney pink paper. Shiney pink seems to be the theme this time. I knew what was in the parcells already. Good quality art paper, pastilles and hairspray. It was still nice to unwrap it though.
I always feel that the mood of the birthday day sets the tone for the rest of the birthday year, it might be simply superstition but these things are the way they are. So I was very happy to see it was nice sunny day and when I sat on the bed brushing my hair I could see my now overgrown garden full of little sparrows hopping from bush to bush.
I had a phone call off Irish John who wants to take me out to Glastonbury for the day with his partner Caroline. And another from my friend M who offered to take me to see Jani sometime next week. If only I could persuade him to do that on the Solstice! And one from my middle sister M. She sung Happy Birthday to me, as she didn't say who she was I had to work it out while she sang. She won't admit it but her voice is almost identical to my other middle sister P. (4 girls, 1 boy)
The rest of the morning has been me rushing about hiding all my stuff. My one and only cupboard is now stuffed to the gills and I've put throws over the rest of the stuff! Now my siblins know well enough I'm not a tidy person but I'd love that one day I'd suprise them. It looks OKish but I could do better. I'm not worried though, just feeling very happy.
When I went out to water my window box of flowers I found them upside down on the path by the front door. Now I did hear a bang last night, but I also heard a stumble and thought it was the elderly chap upstairs who is a bit wobbly on his legs and more so when he comes home from the pub. As I heard the front door go and stomping up the hallway. One of my gossipy neighbours came out when I was cleaning up the mess and plonking the flowers back where they belong to ask if it was vandels or foxes. I replied foxes! Well Mr J is an Old Fox and that's the name of the pub he drinks at. So it wasn't quite a lie.
John Ogden an artist from Glastonbury will be in my neck of the woods today (his dad lives not far from me) so he may pop in for a cuppa. Now I've never met him before, but he knows so many of my friends IRL on FB and they like him, so this may be the start of another good friendship.
