About 6 years ago, I managed to become friends with a man who owned a few local race horses (raced them at Saratoga mostly) and one of them, a filly, was possibly on her way to a Breeder's Cup race. For a whole season I was able to follow her progress personally - going to Saratoga to watch her exercise, visiting her in the barn and of course going to almost all the races she ran at Saratoga. She did run at Belmont one fine day & I had the chance to go! It was a dream come true for me! She didn't win, but it was an amazing experience to be in the paddock, watch her being saddled & her jockey getting a leg up. Walking through the tunnel... seeing Secretariat's statue... It was amazing and seeing your pictures just brought all those memories flooding back.
I have since moved away from New England and have lost contact with all those involved with that filly, but she races in my heart & I will never forget how amazing it was to be a part of that experience.
THanks for sharing your pictures!!
and: GO STREET SENSE!!!!
