We arrived in Louisville yesterday, the weather here is great. It's warm, a bit warmer than you'd expect, like about 80 degrees! As all things, the weather will change but for now it is really nice here for Derby Week. Street Sense went out at 7 am this morning for a routine gallop.
All the Derby contenders have a saddletowel with their name on it, to help the press identify Derby horses as they are training each morning.
Street Sense enjoys his trip to the track each morning, he likes to stop and look around (as good horses often do) and handles himself like the pro that he is.
He has matured and grown since I last saw him in November. He is very impressive looking.
Back at the barn, Street Sense gets a bath after his workout. The people standing around are the press, recording Street Sense's every move and writing down Carl's every word. And this is only Monday. As the week progresses, the crowd will be much bigger.
More tomorrow!
