Why I Love... Tin Man

Reason #1: Everything about Tin Man was perfect. Even the plotholes so big you can pilot the Titanic through. I just love everything about it. It is my fandom.
Reason #2: Wyatt and Adora Cain. Just.. I can't even put words together. It's horrible and perfect at the same time.

I made a mini-mix for my OTP (but no links because it's late and I can't find a single upload of Garth that isn't actually some creepy cover-version. WTF Internet??) Yes, this is the closest my OTP gets in the entire series. It sucks. And, what's worse is that this is the extent of their story. Everything I have is headcanon, but it's okay. I don't have to worry about the writers getting an "inspiration" half a season in and jack-knifing my train. I LOVE THEM. ♥

What I love about Orphan Black:

1) This show is all about giving women the chance to be front-and-center in a science fiction genre piece. The action revolves around the women - Sarah, Beth, Alison, Cosima, Helena - with the men in more subordinate roles. As a friend pointed out, it doesn't pass a reverse-Bechdel Test (two names male characters having a conversation about something other than a woman) until most of the way through the first season. Lots of the men's plots are standard female tropes - they get to be objects of suspicion more than fear, get to be kidnapped and threatened and used as emotional blackmail. I can't think of a single other sci-fi show that has managed to make the female characters so completely central.
