Simple: STOP REWARDING GREEDY PEOPLE.
I wish the institutions would be held more accountable for how they use the "bailout" money. The average American is shedding a job, can't keep up with the house note, gets sick but can't get help with our healthcare system - and then the CEOs want RAISES. Needs to stop NOW.
Healthcare should be available for everyone. When someone else is sick and can't get help, we are ALL in danger. Insurance should NOT be as high as it is and cover as LITTLE as it does. Proper healthcare is not living from emergency to emergency, but getting preventative and constant care.
We must change this closed-door system of capitalism. We can stop things like Enron, Wells Fargo, the economy fallout from happening if everybody knows what you are doing. Surely 8 years of highway robbery make this lesson clear.
Affordable education. Again, NO REASON for tuition, room & board to be as high as it is, and do so little. Lots of college grads can't find jobs. Not because they're not looking, or they aren't qualified - they're just not there. What is the use of bankrupting a family for degrees that will eventually become meaningless because so many people will have them with no job to use them for? I do respect the institutions, and the high academic standards they set...but if any of us are going to get ahead, the cost has got to come down.
