Inaugu-tainment 1.20.09

Inauguration Day 2009: Barack the White House started out terribly.

I went to look at my class schedule to register for another one and pay, AND they dropped me from the classes. ALL OF THEM.

This morning was muy frustrado y descansando. Spent a good 2.5 hours waiting in line for the dumb counselors to tell me that YES, I can register online...just not from my computer because it's a Mac. Oh, and every Saturday the system drops people from classes who've registered but haven't paid - even THREE MONTHS before the classes have started. wtf, mate?

Fortunately, I found more classes to make up for the deficit (albeit they're not NEARLY as exciting as the ones that I had) and paid on the spot. Another $750 gone - ugh.

Creative Writing: I got this class back on my schedule. Haven't done this in a while, so maybe this will be nice.

Literature & Film: Not exactly sure if I will like this class or not. Deciding factor: FILM > literature.

Web Page Design I: Will probably drop this class. Since it kicked me out of a T/Th 9:00 am slot, I had to settle for the second start Saturday 9A - 2P. Which, as much as I love webpage design, is NOT how I want to spend 5 hours on every Saturday until May 17.

Contemporary Social Problems: I did a class about this, where we made presentations. It's a sociology course, so I definitely don't know what to expect [Intro to Socio. = TOTAL. WASTE. OF. TIME]. Will see, possible drop if too much work involved.

DID indeed make it back in time to see swearing-in ceremonials. Exciting, but not NEARLY to the point of crying and nonsense. People are ridiculous. Did like the speech, very on point. Also noticed Dick Cheney in a wheelchair. That man is quite decrepit and can now take his greedy oil-grabbing Halliburton behind and die somewhere. Poor Bush v.1.0. He was waddling around like a duck. I think the cold gave him arthritis. Sad. Ted Kennedy fell out from a seizure, but he's okay now.

Parade is WAAY too long. Who the hell scheduled a 2 hour parade after being up early for swearing-in, eating lunch, and walking down Penn Ave. in 14 degree weather? And they have to go to dinners afterwards. And tomorrow is early morning WORK time. Whoever planned the parade is an idiot.

Class from 9A to 2P tomorrow. J's wake at 5:00 and 6:30, will see how I feel/if I can find proper things to wear. Wish I had male to snuggle with instead of procrastinating these other applications by any means necessary. and I mean ANY. means.
