Challenge #23: Introducing...

You can go about this one of two ways: you can write a fic about them, or you can write out a profile with their name, background, etc. If you go the fic route, you're welcome to include other characters from the fandom as ( Read more... )

Do the characters have to be 100% OCs? For example, I have a probably novel-length (not even kidding) headcanon for a certain Harry Potter character who technically isn't an OC... All we have provided in canon about her are her name, a rough birth-date and the names of her husband and daughters - the rest of her biography is entirely my own headcanon and not even very canon-compliant from what we know about her daughters xD. So... Would she count or should I start entirely from scratch? (I totally hope that makes any kind of sense now, it's way too late :P)

I have so much sympathy with wanting a chance to explore an elaborate headcanon--I've been there!--but I kind of feel like allowing canon characters kind of goes against the spirit of the challenge. Plus it makes it hard to draw a line, because I'm not in a position to judge for a lot of shows how minor characters are. I'm sorry! Maybe there will be a minor character challenge sometime.

Aww, no worries! :D I have a few tiny basic details made up about her mother, too, so I'll just use her :D (And she's entirely an OC, haha)

Title: Coping
Fandom: Old Kingdom book series by Garth Nix
Character: Aenna (OC), Lirael
Warnings: Spoilers for the ending of the series
A/N: This ended up being much more about an already existing character than I had planned but it is from the perspective of the OC and I'm sure there are more than 250 words somewhere in there that would count as introduction of the character. :D
Word Count: 2498

Introducing: Rachel Birkholtz
Fandom: OMG Check, Please!
How she fits in: she's Holster's older sister

[untitled ficlet]
Rachel briefly contemplated calling ahead to let her little brother know she was coming to visit Samwell for this year's Alumni Weekend, but she wanted to see him in his natural habitat. And for that, she couldn't give him time to prepare.

The SMH Haus was exactly as old and dilapidated as she remembered, but with nicer curtains and an honest to god mat in front of the door. Snorting a little, Rachel quietly tested the door knob.

Unlocked.

She grinned. Perfect. She crept forward and spied into the kitchen, expecting it to be empty and disgusting. Instead, she found a short boy with headphones on rolling out some dough. Blinking in surprise, Rachel waited until he turned away to sneak past the open doorway towards the living room. She could hear her brother and some of his friends, nearly drowned out by the sounds of a video game. Just as she reached the doorway, the game music changed and half the boys cheered while the rest of
