Chapter 7

“What in the HELL are you doing?” Toma grunted.

Jun got up quickly from his position. He crossed his arms and seemed almost as if he was offended that he had been interrupted.

“The question is-WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, TOMA?! I thought we agreed that you weren’t going to show up here anymore!”

“We didn’t agree! You just commanded me-like you always do. I can’t stand your bossiness!”

“If you can’t stand it so much, then why are you so desperate to have me back?!”

“I’m beginning to wonder that myself!”

“SHUT UP!”

Nino was annoyed, if anything, that Toma and Jun had the nerve to argue in his apartment. He was also annoyed that Aiba had brought Jun’s ex over anyways.

“You-why are you here?” he asked, pointing at Toma.

“I-I was just coming to see Jun-THAT’S NOT IMPORTANT! What are you doing with Jun on your lap?!”

Nino sighed heavily. Putting his hands on his hips and rolling his eyes, he looked at Jun and then at Toma, and even glanced towards Sho and Aiba.

“I don’t know. I don’t know what’s happened-a week ago, everything was perfectly fine. But now it’s all messed-up. And I have you, Matsumoto, to thank for that. Nearly raping me made the whole experience A HELL OF A LOT BETTER!”

Nino stomped over to the doorway, put on his shoes and coat and left the apartment.

Toma gasped, “You tried to rape him?”

Jun sighed and put his head in his hands.

Meanwhile, Nino was walking downstairs and came to the front entrance of his building when he suddenly stopped. He had bumped into someone and was quick to apologize.

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to-”

“Kazu?”

Nino looked and saw that it was Ohno, half-smiling at him, looking better than Nino had remembered him.

“Satoshi-what are you doing here?”

Ohno chuckled slightly.

“I-I came to see you. I was just checking to see if everything was all right. But I guess it would be all in vain; it’s not like I have any right to see y-ou.”

Nino grabbed Ohno and hugged him tightly. He wasn’t sure what came over him, but Nino didn’t think, he just acted.

“Kazu-”

“Satoshi, I’ve never wanted to be with someone as badly as I do right now. I want to make things all right between us, no matter what. I don’t care what happened with Matsumoto or anyone else for that matter; I just want you back.”

Ohno was caught off-guard but slowly started to ease into his usual comfort level when with Nino. He put his arms around the other man and held him close, not saying one word but letting his actions do the talking.

Aiba shook his head over and over again, exhaled a few times and stared up at the ceiling. He wasn’t sure how this all had happened but he was sure it was the work of a higher being. Clearly punishment for some misdeed, or quite possibly for having not given his boyfriend what he “really wanted”.

“Just tell me why you keep getting caught with other men, Jun!”

Jun crossed his arms and looked away, causing Toma to get more irritated. Sho was watching the drama unfold, occasionally rubbing his temples in frustration.

“This has nothing to do with you. What happened is between me and Ninomiya-and Ohno-and I suppose you, two, Sakurai-kun.”

Sho looked up when spoken to, his eyes shifting to Aiba who glared at him. Sho sunk his head in shame and chose to step out of the conversation.

“You’ve got some nerve, you know! I’ve apologized for my actions-I’ve repented and I think I deserve an explanation! How am I supposed to trust you again when you keep breaking my trust?”

“How about you stop trying and leave me the hell alone?!”

“Hey, now, you two, you gotta stop arguing,” Aiba calmly stated.

“Why should we? Clearly, yelling and screaming are the only ways of communicating with this Neanderthal,” Jun scoffed, looking at Toma, attempting to insult the younger man.

“STOP! Just stop! I get enough yelling from Nino-chan-I don’t need YOU TWO to go and make things worse.”

Toma laughed, but not because he found what Aiba said funny. He was laughing because it was so cyclical the way he and Jun would go back and forth, repeating the same things and arguing over the same issues, again and again.

“Look, Jun-” he started in a serious voice, “I’m not going to ask anymore. It’s-what ever you did before I came back and after we broke up-it’s your business. Simple as that-but that doesn’t change the fact that I want you back.”

Jun looked at Toma, seeming a little calmer and a little less angry.

“How can you want someone who’s been with so many men?”

Toma smiled.

“It’s easy when I love that person more than anything else in this world.”

Aiba gasped softly, sounding very touched by Toma’s words. Sho chuckled softly at his hopeless romantic of a boyfriend.

“You-you still love me?”

Toma smiled sweetly.

“I never stopped.”

Jun choked up a bit, but then the feeling disappeared all of a sudden. He got up quickly and pointed his finger straight in Toma’s face.

“Have you been in contact with Yamashita since we broke up?!”

“What?!”

“Have you talked to him since? I want to know-right now!”

Aiba’s shoulders fell. He appeared disappointed at the shift in mood.

“Of course I haven’t! I told you that I quit that job! I haven’t talked to him since we broke up, Jun. You have to believe me-it happened once but it sure as hell won’t happen again!”

“How can I believe you? How am I supposed to trust you when you broke my heart?”

Toma looked at Jun dead in the eye, his upper lip trembling ever so slightly. Jun looked back at Toma, seeming less emotional but not completely without any emotion.

“I guess you’re just going to have to take that chance.”

Jun looked away, seeming reluctant to do so, but then Toma walked over to him and grabbed his hands. Jun continued looking away, feeling like any sign of vulnerability would make him susceptible to Toma’s charm. He then turned his face slightly and was blind-sided when Toma kissed him.

Aiba gasped again, this time at a higher frequency. Sho covered his ears and closed his eyes but then opened them slightly to see what Jun would do in response to Toma’s kiss.

Surprisingly, Jun did not fight back and instead, made the kiss even more passionate by putting his arms around Toma. The kiss ended in seconds but the stare they shared seemed to last minutes.

“Does this mean you two are back together?” Aiba whispered, trying his best to not appear nosy. He was incapable of subtlety, but was completely aware of it.

Jun smiled and looked at Aiba, nodding his head. Toma laughed and Sho smiled as well.

Aiba clapped his hands furiously and said, “I’ll go get some drinks! We have to celebrate!”

Ohno and Nino were caught-up in the moment and started kissing furiously while still in the doorway in the lobby of the apartment building. It appeared that they had patched things up with another and found a very public display of affection to be the best symbol of their rekindled relationship.

They didn’t expect to bump into Aiba who came running down the stairs and was heading to the local market.

“OH MY GAWD! WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING?! IN THE LOBBY?! FOR EVERYONE TO SEE?!”

Nino looked at Aiba, as did Ohno. The former smiled while the latter blushed furiously and turned his head away, as if that would somehow keep him from being recognized.

A little while later, the 6 men were sitting around the coffee table in Nino and Aiba’s living room, with empty beer glasses in front of them. They seemed to all be paired off with Ohno and Nino sitting next to each other, Sho and Aiba as well as Jun and Toma doing the same.

Nino cleared his throat.

“Anyone else find this incredibly awkward and probably very unnecessary?”

Everyone stared at him but then started mumbling in agreement, nodding their heads and avoiding eye contact.

“Ninomiya-”

“Huh?”

Jun got up and made a space for himself next to Nino, blocking Ohno from being next to his boyfriend. Nino was sure that Jun would start his seduction up again, this time for Ohno to witness.

But then Jun surprised him. He bowed low to the floor and cleared his throat.

“I’m very deeply sorry for the trouble I’ve caused for you,” he said in a believably serious voice.

“HUH?!”

Jun looked at up at Nino, still serious. It seemed like only now did Nino realize how good looking Jun was; Nino had been more blinded by Jun’s suspicious behavior than by the younger man’s beauty.

“I wanted to apologize. I want to apologize for causing you and Ohno-kun to break up. And for trying to seduce you earlier, I especially want to apologize! I was only doing it to make Toma jealous-that’s all.”

“You what?” Ohno gasped.

“What do you mean ‘only doing it to make Toma jealous’?” Nino blinked, “You told me that I reminded you of him and that you were really attracted to me! You were practically giving me a lap dance too!”

“He what?!” Ohno continued gasping.

“Yeah well-that was just sort of-a lie. I mean, it’s not that you’re bad-looking or anything, Ninomiya-you’re just not my type.”

“WHAT?!”

“Kazunari, why are you insulted?!” Ohno started sounding angry.

“I’m not! I just-then what’s your type?! Guys like Ikuta-san? Or guys like my Oh-chan?!”

Jun smiled awkwardly.

“Yeah, you could say that. Well-Ohno-kun’s not exactly my type-he’s an exception. I like guys more like Toma-and Aiba-kun.”

“Huh?!” Aiba gasped, moving away quickly.

“Aiba?!”

Jun just laughed nervously, “I-I didn’t mean to start any trouble. Just please accept my apology and we can put this all behind us. Please.”

“You like my Masaki?!” Sho taking over for a jealous Ohno.

“I didn’t say-”

“I’M MATSUMOTO-KUN’S TYPE?!”

“WHY THE HELL AM I NOT YOUR TYPE?!”

“What did you mean saying that I’m an exception? What’s wrong with me?”

“Jun-why do you tell people things like this?” Toma sighed, putting his hand to his forehead out of exasperation.

Jun just continued to laugh awkwardly, waving his hands, hoping it would keep more drama from starting up.

It seemed like only minutes when all 6 guys were drunk out of their minds and about ready to pass out. Nino looked at Ohno with blurred vision and noticed the other man starting to fall asleep. He patted Ohno’s head like a puppy and smiled weirdly. He could see Jun and Toma, already passed out in one another’s arms. Aiba and Sho seemed to still be conscious but it seemed that Nino was not, because within seconds, he was out for the night.

The next morning, Nino woke up, his head on Ohno’s lap. The two were still in his living room, still wearing the clothes they had worn the night before. He moved slightly and saw that Jun and Toma had disappeared as did Sho and Aiba. Curious, Nino got up, leaving Ohno unchanged from his sleepy state and went to find his missing roommate.

He knocked on the door and rubbed his head as it pounded from all the liquor he had the night before. There was no answer from Aiba’s room so he decided to come in.

“Hey, Aiba, my head’s still pounding from-WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!”

He looked and saw a naked Aiba, with his comforter barely covering his lower half and a half-naked Sho lying next to him. Aiba wiped his eyes and got up to look at Nino, while Sho shifted around, only to wake up as well.

“What’s wrong, Nino-chan?” Aiba mumbled, still sounding sleepy.

Nino panted, still disturbed by the sight of Aiba and Sho in bed, naked.

“Why are you-why are you-”

“Why am I what?”

“WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!”

Aiba blinked and then looked down, screeching when he realized what had happened.

“OH GAWD!”

“Oh now you get it!”

“Sho-chan-cover up, Nino-chan’s in the room.”

Sho looked down as well and his eyes got big, immediately. He pulled the blanket over to cover him but was fighting with Aiba over it, as the two struggled to hide their shame.

“WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!” Nino bellowed, once more.

Aiba laughed awkwardly.

“Um-Sho-chan and I ‘did it’.”

“Did what?” Nino asked, sounding stupid for not realizing what Aiba meant.

“You know-we did IT.”

Nino then realized what Aiba meant and started screaming.

“WHAT?!”

“It’s not that big a deal, Nino-chan. You and Ohno-kun have sex all the time. It’s a natural occurrence that happens between two people when they’re in love-or really, really drunk; both of which I was last night,” Aiba joked.

Sho just blushed and refused to speak at all, even though secretly, he was more than happy that he and Aiba had finally had sex.

Nino wasn’t happy and felt a bit disturbed that his normally “pure-minded” friend had finally given it up to his boyfriend.

Ohno walked over to where Nino was and looked around, unsure of what was going on.

“What happened?” he said, not stressing over the fact that Aiba and Sho were in bed together.

“Sho-chan and I had sex last night,” Aiba said point-blankly.

Ohno blinked.

“Oh-congratulations,” he smiled, “I’m gonna make breakfast for everyone. Do you all want eggs?”

Aiba and Sho nodded but Nino did not move a muscle; his mouth still hanging wide open as his eyes were fixated on Aiba.

Ohno just patted Nino’s shoulder and walked out. Aiba got up, now not covering one bit of his body and exposing himself to a completely unaware Nino.

“OH GAWD, PUT SOME DAMN PANTS ON, YOU PERVERT!” Nino screamed, running out of the room.

Aiba just laughed and put his hands on his hips, victoriously as Sho laughed and blushed a bit.

Later, the four of them had breakfast together, even though Nino was still a bit disturbed about what he had found out about his dear roommate. Sho and Aiba were acting lovey-dovey while Ohno seemed more focused on his food than anything.

Just then a knock on the door was heard. Nino managed to regain consciousness long enough to go to answer it.

“Matsumoto-Ikuta-san-where did you guys go this morning?”

Sure enough, there were Jun and Toma standing in the hallway, looking just about ready to burst.

“Huh?”

Toma smiled widely, “We came over to announce something really important-”

“WE’RE GOING TO START LIVING TOGETHER!” Jun squealed, sounding less like the person Nino had known and hated for a brief period of time.

“Wow, really?” Sho gaped.

“That’s so cool! You guys-congratulations!”

“Congratulations,” Ohno said, before drinking his orange juice and giving a thumbs up.

Nino nodded his head, gesturing his agreement with Ohno’s wish of congratulations.

Jun looked at Nino and smiled oddly. Nino’s eyebrows went up as he stared back.

“What?”

Jun chuckled, “I guess this means you’ve forgiven me-right?”

Nino frowned.

“Nope-I still hate your guts.”

“EH?? NINOMIYA-KUN-DON’T BE SO CRUEL TO ME! TOMA-TELL HIM!” Jun fake whined.

“Oh for the love of-” Nino groaned, thinking that Jun was being serious.

But when everyone burst out into laughter, he knew he had just been played. He laughed as well, occasionally glaring at Jun who would just smile back.

“Let’s be friends, Ninomiya-kun-FOREVER!” Jun smiled.

“I’ve never wanted someone to die-so badly!” Nino replied in a sarcastic tone.

It was weird how things had turned out, but at the same time, it was expected. Nino was used to odd happenings, especially since he lived with Aiba. He just never expected that his greatest enemy and biggest rival in love would turn out to be such a sympathetic character. It was true that Jun did the things he did as retribution for having been cheated on by Toma, but Nino still thought that there was a part of Jun that did it for not good reason. Jun had started out to be someone that only liars and cheats could respect and admire but that changed.

Nino respected Jun, because he was the one person who could ever become between him and Ohno. It was unusual to say the least, but then again, Nino was quite an unusual person himself.
