So a day-to-day blog is coming up but the funny moments last forever.
Funny moment #1
It was the first time we took the train in Korea, my friend couldn't understand the signs not that they were in Korean it was pretty much simple, it points in the direction you are going to, you just got to know the next few stops right or left of your station. I told her it was the opposite direction but she insisted she was right. I checked the map on my iPhone we were going in the wrong direction. Awkward right? I found it pretty much hilarious.
Funny moment #2
I went to a dog cafe and it was fun just being surrounded by little dogs. The cafe is called Cafe Bau and it was seperated into two sections, one was a smaller section and the back was a much larger section, I guess to accomodate the much bigger dogs in the cafe. After some time in the smaller section, one of the larger dogs came into the smaller section it was a bulldog. He is a softie but he is bigger than the smaller dogs and he was sniffing a dog that was hiding under the sofa and I'm not a big fan of bulldogs. One of the employees decided to take him back to the larger section, he clapped his hands and stuck his hands out like how you do with a small child to pick them up. What was funny was that the dog flinched and shuffled back a bit, I think it's because the employee is very skinny so he doesn't have the most comfortable arms or maybe the dog doesn't like being picked up. Anyway just imagine a pair of very slim arms picking up a bulldog. That is funny.
Ps. entry to the cafe is free but it's polite to order some drinks or food while in the cafe, every person should order. Dog and I'm assuming cat cafes are bit more expensive than other cafes but the mood and the pets are worth it. Well, that's my personal opinion.
Funny moment #3
I went to a Hanok village with a group of friends, we went to play bowling and well we made a bet who would win or lose. If you lost then you had to pay for bowling and dinner. My team lost TT^TT My partner didn't have any cash so I paid for both ;-; My pockets, imagine moths flying out of my pocket. I'm so sad. The funny moment was during dinner, they decided to do challenges and rock-paper-scissors. 2 rounds were played and the punshiments got worse; soy sauce, wasabi, cheese, chocolate, bread stick.... and something else I can't remember. It was fun my friends reaction and my reaction was just pain and disgust. Pain. A lot of pain. It's suppose to be a good bonding exercise but not for me.
The first person to receive punishment
My punishment though I didn't know it at them time ;-;
Funny moment #4
The trickeye museum in Hongdae or Hongik University station is something you need to experience. We got a deal at the our hostel both the trickeye museum and the ice gallery for 11,000 won admittedly it's only one entrance. The first trick art was a hole in the wall on one side with steps leading through it, on the other side it was a series of portraits and you yourself could have the same pose as the other similar paintings. It was an exciting experience, hilarious at the same time. Honestly something to experience and have fun with friends, I wish I brought more of my friends there, it would have been so much more fun.
I went to Korea during the hottest season, summer, I am warning you it is hot and just really humid. It's much hotter in the city as well but the humidity made it feel really stuffy. That day it was around 30+ degrees so the ice gallery was something needed, it was -5 degrees inside the ice gallery to keep all the sculptures. I stupidly decided to wear shorts, I don't know if it was a good idea or not to be very honest with you. It was hot so shorts were needed but the ice gallery was so cold, so a bad idea? There was cute penguins sculptures and and ice igloo that we decided to go in. Some people were crawling on their hands and knees but we shuffled while squatting. I don't really like the cold. And then instead of crawling back through the entrance we came from, we decided to take the next exit which was a semi-long tunnel and it is difficult to squat and shuffle through but it was done. There was an ice watermelon sculpture, present, santa, angel chair, car, reindeer and sleigh, dog house, a whole room, kitchen and bathroom adjacent with a "fire place" and piano and a book shelf. And the final attraction a slide!
Ice slide, you pick up a mat at the bottom which is just in front of the entrance and slide down. Great for little kids, 20+ or over a certain weight... not so much sliding.
It's a deal to get both attractions for 11,000 won. If you're hostel or any tourist information areas have these kind of deals, go for it! Even if you don't want to do any tourist things, some tourists deals are worth it.
End of part 1.
