A cool day.

Under-employment seems to work in my favor again. Woke up sort of early for me since it's a big day and I look out at snow. Not a ton of snow, but enough snow to cover everything around here. So rare to see live action snow that you have to do a double take just to make sure you are really looking at snow and not having some weird dream. Lack of money also means I've got no where to go so I might as well sit at home with the food and the heat.

Or at least that's the plan so far. I'm not really sure how snow is going to work into the work two days a week thing at work. My nephew and the guy he's working with both have to travel a long way to work. Me, heck I could walk to work because I had to do that one time when my car broke down and I couldn't get parts before work. At least I'll be near the phone all day just in case things should change at work.

Bigger than work though, bigger than snow, at last it's the day when George W. Bush gets thrown out of the White House and maybe we get someone with enough brain cells to rub together to fix problems instead of making new problems. From a historical prospective it's one of those really huge days. It's like watching the Berlin Wall come down or the other huge events I've seen. Just amazing to think that on the same grounds where black people tolled as slaves now Obama will take over in the most power position you can get in the world right now.

I know things will not change over night, but closing down Gitmo, taking the troops home so Iraq can really chose what sort of nation they will be, to bring back the rule of law, the respect of other nations, someone that seems determined to create jobs instead of saying it's just my bad luck, on it just seems like better day. And even though I can't be there live at least it's all in hi-def. Maybe I should call up my racist grandfather to rub it in a bit?
