Exciting Mundane Updates and Gunless--

Apr 29, 2010 16:24

I am a woman of ninja-attack updates lately. I show up, I post/say something, and then POOF, I disappear again like the wind. If it were ninja shaped, and the ninja was shaped like me, and had a tendency to continue to read his/her Flist, that is. *shifty* I'll catch you lot up on what I've been up to in more detail later (as well as answer some questions I've been asked), but the short form is this: I was at the Calgary Entertainment Expo all weekend, and afterward, I felt like I'd been repeatedly run over by a truck. Fun, but man was it tiring.

I also spent some time with my beloved brodeurbunny30, whom I am very proud of just now, and ashinae, and had a whale of a time. My dad also achieved a lifetime goal last week, and I'm extra-extra-incredibly-impressed with him. I'm slowly muddling through the early details of the newest developments in my own life, and I'm considerably calmer about it all. I'm nearing 1000 words in my fic for kittylass, and wondering how long it is going to turn out to be, and... *coughIinstalledtheSims3andmademyselfaweeVigBeanhouseholdcough*. They're telling me they want a baby, now, too. O_o Hold up, guys! Yeesh! Don't go rushing into things. Oh, and I actually successfully made a Coke-and-maple-syrup glaze for the ham my dad brought home the other day. (Halved all the ingredients, though, because it wasn't exactly a large portion, and skipped the cloves altogether.) It was surprisingly good, and I'm shocked I've attempted two recipes in less than two weeks.

Other than that, I've been working and trying to catch up on some sleep, yay. I know, exciting life, right? Aren't you glad I'm telling you all about it? -_-

And finally, I cannot, cannot wait for this movie -- so it's good it starts tomorrow -- but I suspect that few, if any of you folks who aren't Canucks will see it. (Just like Passchendaele; why haven't you seen Passchendaele yet?)
Gunless: A hardened American gunslinger is repeatedly thwarted in his attempts to mount a showdown in a friendly town in Canada where no one seems to understand or appreciate the brutal code of the American Wild West.
Even my dislike of Callum Keith Rennie, man-of-exactly-one-character-portrayal [insert rant about what was wrong with due South when they changed Rays], is not keeping me away.

Seriously, though, the trailers make me want to run back and write more of Healthy, Wealthy and Wise, which I've been meaning/wanting to do for a while anyway.

...I think I need another nap, now, please. *flops*
