Please Help Me, Friendslist!
It seems that it is, indeed, true. My old ICQ account was hacked, and someone (from Russia) is now using it. PLEASE, LJ, if you have my old number on your IM list and you see this person, do me a favour and tell them to give me my account back? (On the off chance it works, either take the password yourself, hit ICQ's homepage, change it right away and email me, or get them to send the password to ladyoflorien AT gmail DOT com and then email me yourself at the LJ addy to let me know? Thank you.) Strong language is heartily approved. I know this counts as throwing my (small) weight around, but they're a thief, and if I can't have my account back, then I want to see them unable to use the account for sheer virtue of shaming.
(Apparently hacking of low numbers that have been around for years is something that happens a great deal, because they're status symbols within the Russian community. I've had that number since 1997. I'm ridiculously angry that my account was targeted simply for a meaningless cred.)
Old number is 3133847. If you suddenly feel the need to add it where you haven't before in order to do the same (can be added via Trillian or AIM -- ask me how if you need help), then please do. I'll post here again with an update once there is some change. In the meantime, please, do me this favour?
