i think, i hate gamers.
which sounds funny cause im one, and most of my friends are, but reading all these ds vs. psp stories and message boards and the same with ps3 vs xbox360 i dunno its just making me sick. everyone is so petty. ill admit at one point i was much like these ppl but for the most part im alot more passive now. thats not to say i want an xbox 360 when it comes out or anything, and mabey i am a sony fanboy but im beginning to realize its all about preference.
i dont like xbox for a reason and its not because i like ps2.
i dont like first person shooters. thats it plain and simple.
xboxs flagship games are halo and halo 2 and those are just games that dont interest me in the least. i know theres tons of gamers out there that like games like that but me i just dont. so while looking at ps3 vids i dont really care whether or not the killzone 2 demo is real time or pre rendered. im not gonna play it either way. im more interested in what metal gear solid 4 is gonna play like. i dont care that halo 3 is being developed to be released when the ps3 does its not gonna change my mind on what i want out of this console cycle. and thats not a put down on microsoft or ppl who like that shit, i just dont.
also online play was the thing that really brought xbox to the forefront.
for me, not so much. i dont really care about online play. because i dont wanna play video games with some stranger who is more then likely an asshole. id much rather play a friend. if my friend beats me in a game and braggs its funny and entertaining. if some random guy on xbox live beats me and braggs hes just an arrogant dick. thats my opinion. i dont even know you dude why are you so happy you kicked my ass??
now about ds and psp man the subject is really wearing me down.

its really ridiculous. you wanna know whos winnng the handheld wars?? NOBODY!!!!
sure ds has sold more but its been out longer and has a smaller price point. there are so many factors as to why the ds is outselling the psps and yes if you wanna say nintendogs is one the ok youre right. but thats not for everyone. i have a ds and i have a psp and i like both of them. i like the ds' innovation and finally the system is starting to roll out some good games. i recently bought advance wars ds and i love it. and im looking foward to other games coming this fall.
i love my psp. i LOVE it!! its capabilities are just so vast. its really a great piece of hardware. now everyone is coming down on it because of its lack of good games but look at what happened when ds came out. all systems go throught this. theres always a lull period when theres a lack of substance but then the time comes when the system gets its kickstart. that time is now for the ds. and the psp is just slightly behind. whether it catches up or not i dont care because i enjoy both systems.
everyone wants to come down on the psp because most of its games are just rehashs or ports of games already out on ps1 and ps2. but i dont care about that either cause honestly there are tons of times when im playing a game at home, have to leave for work, and wish i could take it with me on the go. in my eyes a good console game makes you want to play it when you cant, and a good handheld game makes you wish there was a console version to play. honestly if sony only made remakes of old ps1 and 2 games which i loved for psp i wouldnt care, id be in heaven.
i would DIE for a MGS1 remake, or final fantasy 8 or 10 on psp.
neither of these handhelds are ever a year old yet, theres so much time and room for improvement left in their lives. were only seeing the beginning and its only going to get better from here. both systems are very different and very good for their own reasons. but i will stay here and wait, with my ds in my left, and my psp in my right.
