A/N: Sorry for the kinda-delayed update, I'm on vacation and am quite the procrastinator. I'll try to kick myself in the ass more next time. xD

Beezus eventually peeled herself out of her bed, groaning as she dragged her feet down the stairs. It was too damn bright in the house for the girl's current mood, and she probably wouldn't be up at all yet if it weren't for her stomach's protests. Of course because of the day's earlier events at school she was prevented from eating lunch, and Beezus never had been a big breakfast person.

Before the brunette could reach her destination however, her squarely red-headed intercepted her, leaping into her arms with a large grin plastered across her face.

"You better have a good reason for almost throwing my back out, Ramona, or I swear to--"

"Mom called Marshall and sorted everything out! We can go!" The elder girl's eyes widened as she set the red-head down, before attempting to summon up her most sincere smile. Curse Ramona and her inability to sense sarcasm, if she could have only been able to tell that Beezus actually didn't want to go to California with her, she wouldn't be in this mess.

"Oh uhm… that's great!" Ramona's brow furrowed for but a second as she took in the sincere look on her older sister's face, combined with her slightly shaky voice that revealed the exact opposite meaning of her words.

"…you don't sound very excited, Bee!"

"I'm just… kinda hungry and tired is all, Ramona. I had a long day." Beezus explained, as much as she dreaded this trip she couldn't bring herself to disappoint her younger sister, whose head bobbed in understanding. "Why don't you go play with Howie for a little?"

"Alright! Bye Beezus!"

And with that, the hyperactive red-head bounced away towards the door, and Beezus once more continued in her journey to the kitchen. Pulling open the fridge, the teen groaned internally at the near bare shelves. Guess her stomach would have to wait after all.

Shoes, check. Lip gloss, check. Purse, check. The eldest Quimby child moved around her room quickly, taking note of what would need to be packed and left behind as she tossed item after item into her suitcase, which was rapidly running out of space when Beezus barely had even the essentials packed! Pausing before her closet, Beezus mulled over wether or not to bring the jacket Aunt Bea had gotten her for her last birthday. After deciding that it was a must, Beezus once more whirled around but was startled by the sudden appearance of Ramona sitting on her bed.

"Way to almost give me a heart attack, kid! What are you doing in here, you should be packing. We have to leave by tomorrow morning."

"I -was- packing! But… I ran out of space."

"What? How did you run out of space? You have like half the amount of things I do."

"I know, but I couldn't decide what outfits to bring and which ones not to. So I was wondering…"

"Oh boy."

"…if you could put my cowgirl costume in your bag!" Ramona bounced away, not even waiting for Beezus' inevitable rejection. A few moments later, she skipped back into the room with the outfit in hand and promptly shoved it into her sister's suitcase.

"Gee Ramona, sure you can take up my valuable luggage space with your useless costumes that should be reserved for Halloween. Go right ahead. I'll just put my bras in my magical invisible box I tug around with me. Great idea." The brunette sarcastically remarked with a roll of her eyes.

"Ewwww, Beezus! I don't want to know about your bras!" The other girl feigned gagging and Beezus couldn't help but chuckle.

"Alright, alright. Seriously though, I don't have enough space as is for most of the stuff I need. Can't you just leave some stuff at home?"

"Noooo, I need everything!" Dropping to her knees, arms clasped before her in a begging motion, Ramona pleaded, "Please please please Beezus! You'd be the best big sister ever if you did this! PLEEEEE-"

"Okay, okay! As long as you don't bug me until tomorrow morning. Alright?"

"Sure, I promise!" Swinging her arms around Beezus in an exuberant hug until her sister pried her off, Ramona couldn't be happier.

However, the same could not be said for the other Quimby.
