Remember mix-tapes? Anyone?

So, in a moment of "why the hell not?" I grabbed the 90 minute tape that had been gathering dust on my shelf, sat down in front of my dinosaur of a stereo with my record/CD/tape collection, and made a mix-tape.

AND IT WAS THE FUNNEST THING EVER!
(The Internet has confirmed that "funnest" is actually a real word. *nods*)

The great thing about making a mix-tape, as opposed to a CD or an MP3 track list, is that you actually have to listen to the songs that you are recording, and you have to physically dig through your music collection (Or a time machine to the 90s. Saigon Kick? Really. Yes, really).

Also, you can fit a hell of a lot of tracks onto one ninety minute tape!

Moody, broody A-Side:

Cat Stevens - Trouble
David Bowie - It Ain't Easy
Nick Cave - Red Right Hand
Iggy - Bored
Count Basie - Yesterday (Beatles cover)
The Cure - Burn
10,000 Maniacs - I'm Not the Man
Camille Saint-Saëns - Danse Macabre
Alela Diane - Pieces Of String
Aimee Mann - High On Sunday 51
Faithless - Liontamer

Happy, fondu B-Side:

Bob Marley - Trenchtown Rock
Ohio Express - Yummy, Yummy, Yummy
Mel C - I Turn To You
Vanilla Ice - Stop That Train
Hedwig and the Angry Inch - Sugar Daddy
Nerf Herder - Chewbacca, What A Wookie!
The Darkness - Get Your Hands off of My Woman
Theme From Amelie
Grant Lee Buffalo - The Whole Shebang
The Streets - Fit But You Know It
The Chemical Brothers - Hold Tight London
Afro Celt Sound System with Peter Gabriel - When you're Falling
Omar Souleyman - Don't Wear Black, Green Suits You Better

This was sort of the best day ever.
