Always rushing. That was his problem. Always rushing. It was alright for Mr-I'm-A-Superior-Being-Time-Lords-Heal-Quicker-Than-Humans... All Donna wanted to do was stay curled up in her warm, cosy, safe bed for at least a week. She wanted to sleep, no, not sleep, hibernate! Until she felt better. But no, they had to go see creepy soothsayers again.

She trudged after him into the jungle. Alright, so it was slightly impressive. Well, more than slightly, if she was honest. She gave him a half-smile. "Just don't forget where you've parked." She gave him a nudge and offered a hand.

"So, think the creepy soothsayer will be able to give us any proper answers this time?"

He was still tired too, and definitely not healed since it had not even been 24 hours since escaping the Shadow Hunter ship, but he was anxious and wanted some answers.

Buttoning his jacket, his features take a more serious look, "I had a dream, but it wasn't a normal, typical dream. Rose was there on Bad Wolf Bay.... It was like a memory, Donna, only there was something very 'off' feeling about it." He ran his tongue along his teeth in thought, "I feel like I should know something, but I just can't remember."

The Doctor looked distant for a moment more, then shrugged. "Well, I don't know if this will be worth our time or not, but I don't have many more options." And with that, he spun around and began their trek to the door.

"I'm surprised you have any room in your head left for dreaming," she teased, trying to lighten the mood. He had so much weight on his shoulders, she wanted to help him carry the burden and lighten the load any way she could. "All that random knowledge and trivial nonsense stored away in there. When we figure this out, I should take you to a pub quiz, it'd be like having Google sat beside me."

She fell into step beside him. "Will it be all weird and telepathy talk again?" It creeped her out a little. The whole something being in your head concept. She got that the TARDIS was in her head, and that the Doctor could be easily enough. But the thought of other weird things poking around in there was beyond weird. But, at the same time, she didn't want to be the only one who couldn't hear anything in there.

"You don't have to listen if you don't want. I can keep the link closed for you." He stepped over a tree root as he made his way closer to the door that would take them to the soothsayer.

"It was a bit creepy, wasn't it? It was those eyes that did it for me." He commented, though his thoughts were still thinking about his dream. And after a few more feet into their trek, he paused. "Look, Donna, I'm sorry for dragging you in on all of this. Really, you must detest me, but I thank you for sticking around."

Remind Donna why they're here getting creeped out by the creepy creeperson of a soothsayer instead of being tucked up warm and safe in bed, on the TARDIS? They could've been munching on toast and drinking tea and floating around in the vortex all safe and sound. But oh no, they had to come to the place with the weird treehouses and the weird little people and the weird soothsayer and now, now? They were probably going to get clawed to death. Thanks, Doctor.

Donna jumped to her feet, backing away from the soothsayer, and closer to the Doctor. Half out of fear, and half as a human shield. "What does it mean, Doctor? Those letters... they spell out... you said it meant the end of the universe!"

He glanced over to Donna, then back to the soothsayer. "Why does it say 'Bad Wolf'!? I shouldn't be seeing this! Stop playing games!"

"Because there are holes in the universe; in time, Doctor. Can't you see them?" The soothsayer's hands relaxed as it sat back, closing its mouth.

The Doctor swallowed, thinking for a moment, "The altered events in the 1940's..." He spoke softly, "Yes, I thought it was strange."

"It is related." It was now the voice in their head again. Good to know they weren't in any immediate danger and then tensions between the two were decreasing. Tilting its head, the soothsayer blinked and looked at the Doctor, "Yeees, you're playing naïve, Doctor. Any ideas..?"

"Don't mock me." He snapped as his eyes roamed across the walls. "...How long? How long have you known about this?" There was a sullenness overcoming his features.

"Will someone please explain what the heck is going on, please? Earth girl, remember? Plain, simple English, please?" She was trying to keep up, really she was. But all this talk of the Doctor and holes in the universe and Bad Wolf. It wasn't making much sense to her.

"I'm totally confused. I thought we fixed the holes up before. You know, after the whole Dalek... thing and the trying to destroy all of reality thing..."

"I thought so too." He sunk to his knees, lips formed in a line on his face. "It's him and Rose... They're doing this."

Glancing back to the soothsayer, "How long?" He repeated the question, but honestly not interested in hearing the answer.

"It is difficult to say." The soothsayer was almost friendly sounding. "The holes started forming at different times, but not initially by your clone."

Situations that weren't good when you travelled with the Doctor usually meant death, destruction or other such terrible things. Donna had a feeling this wasn't going to be any different. If you thought you heard a frightened squeak come from her then you'd be right, but she wasn't going to admit to it. Nope, she didn't look terrified. Nope, nosiree.

She slid up to the Doctor's side and took hold of his arm. "I think... we should go now? Leaving would be a very good idea. Those claws and that face... Kinda creeping me out..."

"No, of course I didn't endanger you on purpose! I would never...!" He felt Donna's hand on his arm, tugging him back towards the door.

"How far are they?" The soothsayer had greatly helped them, he didn't want to just run away, although on the back of his mind, the safety of the TARDIS...

"Tell me how to help you!"

"Maybe if we leave then they'll leave too? Maybe they followed us here?" Panic? What panic? Donna was completely calm. "Maybe if we go then they'll follow and not even bother the soothsayer... right?"

Well okay. Maybe a little bit of panicking. But the soothsayer was doing the whole creeper thing and who knew what was waiting for them. Which was the lesser of the two evils? That was the question.

A flood of the small-statured creatures poured into the room. "Soothsayer! Soothsayer!" They cried as they rushed to attend to it's needs. "We're being attacked, we must protect you!"

If situations were different, the Doctor would've thought this whole scene as rather comical, but those eyes were locked onto his, filled with anger despite the ushering of leaving of its keepers. "Betrayal!" It snarled.

"I didn't betray you!" He stepped forward, but Donna promptly tugged him back begging him to go. "I didn't know they'd find me so quickly!"

"Jealously!" The soothsayer broke away from the little arms of the creatures trying to help it as it pounded out a drum-like beat in four's on the wooden floor.

"How--? What does that mean!?" Donna was tugging him harder, more urgently, successfully pulling him backwards ( ... )

Startled? Any more startled and Donna would've wet herself. And God, would that've been shaming. She grabbed his hand again and tugged as she started to run. "Don't just stand there nattering then, Spaceman! Leg it!"

She really didn't want any more scouters feeling up her legs, thank you very much. She made a point of not looking at it. She didn't want to know what had been crawling on her.

"Come on!"

Trying to run through a small cave with a swarm (what was the proper term?) of bats was no easy feat, especially when one wasn't sure if they were heading in the correct direction. However, following the bats' path seemed to be a fruitful thing as they raced and finally managed to find the mouth of the cave.

He could hear movements of what he assumed were guards being startled by the bats and used that to their advantage and darted to the side into the jungle.

Had Donna ever mentioned she hated bats? No? Well... she hates bats. They're fine - from a safe distance, but flying over head and swooping near her hair? No, just no. It was right up there on her list with giant spiders and wasps.

Oh! Sweet freedom! Daylight! How happy she was to see it! Still, they weren't out of the woods yet - no pun intended. "Which way?"

He didn't talk, just move cautiously through the thicket of plants. Pausing only to listen to see if they were being followed and to try and figure out where they should go.

Licking his finger, he stuck it out, feeling the wind... Ah, they were heading westward, that is if the weather patterns were similar to Earth's. Frowning, he realized that could make or break them, but at this time, he didn't want to test it out. The Shadow Hunters were angry, very angry, and he'd like to live.

Squeezing her hand, they continued on their way quietly as possible.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Donna couldn't help but let out a soft laugh at him. Silly Spaceman. "Come 'ere." She tugged her sleeve over her hand and used it to clean him up. Motherly instincts kicking in, or something, after all, it wouldn't do him any good to sweat mud into his eyes at a crucial moment.

"Half a kilometer?" Donna let out a huff and followed, trying to keep quiet and ignore the childish yearning to stomp her feet in annoyance. She spotted another hunter and grabbed the Doctor pulling him out of sight again.

Once it was safe she sighed. "This... is ridiculous!"

Ridiculous, yet necessary if they wanted to make it out alive. Unfortunately they looked a rightful mess with scrapes and mud splattered on their trousers, and the Doctor knew better to comment on the state of her hair.

"Almost there..." He sighed, feeling quite thirsty at this point.

And once they arrived... "Oh bugger." The TARDIS was swarmed with monitors and guards. Crouching down in another thicket, his eyes darted around at all the guards. He had to think of some way...

"How much do you trust me?"

Uh oh. Questions like that never meant good things. Never ever. Donna glanced across the way to the TARDIS chewing on her bottom lip nervously and then glanced back at the Doctor. She could see he was planning something most likely foolish and idiotic and most likely to cause him harm.

"Trust you? With my life... Why? What are you planning?"

"I need a distraction. Well, not me, but to get to the TARDIS. There's no way I can sneak over and key in as guarded as it is. It's just not possible. I need you to cause a stir to detour them so I can get to the TARDIS and then pick you up.... Say, like when we first met and you jumped from that taxi!"

He really shouldn't be so jovial in that kind of planning.
