I had a pretty good weekend. Nick came home late Friday and I got to spend some much needed quality time with him. Then Saturday evening I went to my sister's to babysit overnight while they were camping. (Sidenote I love the way my niece says my name, it's just too cute for words). Our parents came up to her house on Sunday and we all celebrated Father's Day together. We went to see Batman Begins, which I very much enjoyed.

Earlier in the week last week I had my first experience with mowing the lawn. Since Nick isn't home enough to do it, I decided to give it a try. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't hard either. The hardest part was on the left side of our house there is a small ditch just before the edge of the house. I had tried to get the grass right along the edge with the lawn mower but found it very difficult to get it back across the ditch so I gave up on that area. Later I got out the weed eater which took twice as long to cover the same amount area as the lawn mower but found it much easier for that particular area along the side of the house. I also used electric hedge clippers on the bushes around my house. I made it through about half of them when the damn thing decided to quit working on me. So I got out the hand clippers and kept tiredly going. Needless to say that was a very educational day for me.

I have found two opportunities that I think I have a good chance at. One is working in Statesville for a non-profit organization for teens. Basically they are a preventative program. It will pay just slightly more than my last job. The other is working in Concord with the state of NC in the juvenile delinquency program. Basically I would be helping these kids get their life back together and showing them a better path to take. The pay would be significantally higher than my last job, but the drive would be more than the Statesville job. I think the pros out way the cons in this situation. I am more interested in the Concord job, but I would be happy with either. I know I said before that I didn't really want to continue to work with kids, but it seems that is what I am most suitable for or as a receptionist. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I need all the luck I can get.
