Six degrees Sean Bean headcanon: All of Sean Bean's character's are the same person, but every time he dies he gets reincarnated in another attempt to live to the end of his life.
You guys are probably lucky that I'm not posting my natter here anymore, because I've rather fallen in love with Sean Bean a little bit, and he's all I feel like posting about outside of rping. (My Boromir RP blog now doubles as a Sean Bean appreciation blog.) Last night I started watching Sharpe because it had Sen Bean in it, and I've fallen in love with the show only two episodes in.
(Sharpe is a BBC show from the nineties. It's a show where Sean Bean doesn't die but everyone else does, and surviving to the end of the episode with a minor credit gets you a place in the Chosen Men.)
The whole reason I picked the show up was because I kept seeing pictures of Sean Bean in his uniform, and oh-my-goodness is his ever lovely (always standing with his hip cocked to one side, yeah, you know what those trousers do for you). But of course I wouldn't have made it past the first episode if it wasn't actually a fun show. Sharpe isn't just lovely, he's adorable, and he has just the right combination of chivalry and swashbuckle in him, not to mention he and Harper are just the cutest, and Teresa is a great example of how to have a competent female soldier who is able to have someone watch her back without suddenly becoming weak and unable to protect herself. The show itself is pretty formulaic and they're uncomfortably open with showing the horrors of the battlefield (though this actually lends to the show's credit) and has a decent and believable mix of upper class officers who are idiots and incompetent and don't deserve their position and those who are actually suited for the job of soldiering and know what they're doing (rather than perpetuating either stereotype). The guy who gave Sharpe his position, and the guy he's set to look after him, are both adorable fanboys who pull the necessary strings to keep him doing well, and he faces the consequences of his poor choices often enough that it's believable and you can sympathize with him. In other words, everything in the show is incredibly well balanced and I love it.
So, there are plenty of things about Sharpe that I enjoy apart from what parts of him I want to metaphorically put my tongue, but every time I sit down to try to post about them, all that seems to come out is... how many parts of him I want to metaphorically put my tongue.
