Dallas: The next generation

Is it the end of a dream or the start of a new one? Will I go to take a shower and discover that the last two decades never actually happened? Twenty years ago approximately the original Dallas finished. I don't remember exactly when the BBC aired the final episode, because around that time life as I had previously known it changed completely in any case when I married and had my first child. Now, in the week that I prepare my youngest to flee the nest, this is happening: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19462529 Spooky or what?

I'll definitely be tuning in this evening to watch the reboot for old times sake - if only to marvel at how well Sue Ellen has done in the interim. I think she's weathered the last twenty years rather better than I have, but at least I haven't been, to quote JR, "a drunk, a tramp, and an unfit mother!" Maybe she has been preserved by all that alcohol rather than ruined by it? Maybe I should crack open a bottle right now? But I jest. Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) looks fabulous and has a feisty new career. I hope that she gives JR Ewing, now her ex, a hard time of it. I'm looking forward to resumption of hostilities complete with bitchy one-liners. :-))

lol, television
