I'm so not amused

Border Patrol just held Shawn at gun point for walking home from the bar.

Un fucking real...

ETA: They pulled up next to him, got out of the Suburban, pointed a gun at him and started yelling questions at him. What's you name, where are you coming from and where are you going...all the usual stuff. Apparently they thought the cell phone in his hand was a weapon and told him to drop it and back away. They bundled him into the back of the vehicle, asked for his ID and once they found out which bar he was walking home from, they started asking him if he had gotten into a fight, fled the scene and then jumped out of a vehicle to walk the rest of the way. He explained to them that no, he wasn't in a fight and was just walking the two blocks home cause he was tired, drunk and wanted his bed. After about fifteen minutes, they gave him back his wallet, phone and keys and told him to be careful walking home and have a good night.

Seriously...what the hell? Why not explain what was going on after you realized you had a person in "custody" who wasn't the person you were looking for? Shawn's not the type to let any kind of emotion through if he can help it and he sounded absolutely terrified when he called me. He said that he wanted to make sure that I was okay, but I have a feeling he needed to hear a familiar voice. He was definitely more calm and his voice was less shaky when we said good night.

wtf
