if you call yourself a friend, do not dispute or discount the feelings of an individual no matter how unfounded they might seem to you. chances are, your friend is feeling down, insecure, discouraged, depressed, what have you and does not need you telling them they're being silly. encouragement is good, further ridicule is not. not to mention, your friend at this time probably doesn't want to hear about all your troubles, despite how much worse they might be. a bad time in life is a bad time - no matter how bad, no matter who it happens to. digging for compliments is stupid, and if you still call yourself a friend, you know when this is happening and are free to respond accordingly. but however small the matter might seem to you, if it upsets your friend, it deserves a little more sincerity in the attention paid than you might think. so do the world a favour: quit thinking of your misbegotten ass and care for once about someone besides yourself.

sorry. i'm in a very bad mood. this is not intended for you all. it's more of a vent than anything. but inside the meanness is something to think about.
