The End of a Digital Crisis
I am pleased to announce that I now have my new computer! :D
It's an HP Pavilion p6654y; Windows 7 for the OS, 4 gigs of system memory and a 750 GB hard drive. I always get buyer's remorse after spending large amounts of money, but this is definitely a worthwhile investment.
For an additional cost, the computer was also pre-programmed and customized with Kaspersky's latest antivirus/anti-adware program, so that it would be armed to the teeth against baddies before I even plugged in the ethernet cable.
And the best news of all, a couple weeks ago I knew my computer's health was declining and fast, so I backed up all my documents, photos, video, important legal docs, etc to my two thumb drives (a 1 GB and 4 G using Cobian Backup. VERY smart idea, since my computer would up and die not one week after the backup. I was able to flawlessly unzip and extract all my documents from the thumb drives to the new computer after everything was set up (and just to be on the safe side, the thumb drives were scanned for baddies using Kaspersky just in case anything hitched a ride from the old computer).
And... that's just about it! Everything is purring along nicely!
