I got a call from my staffing agency after work today, one of those usual "how are things going, how do you like it" sorts of calls, but they mentioned something -really- cool. They told me that the supervisors at my current job asked my temp agency to send them one more person to add on to the team. Normally, this would be bad, because it means more competition, BUT my staffing agency rep told me that they said, and I quote;
"We need a replica of Tiffany."
In other words, I've been doing so well so far that I've set the -standard- for the kind of people they want to hire as of now. I'm just... I'm speechless. It totally made my day. I guess I knew I was doing well, but I certainly didn't think I was doing so well that they would specifically ask for more people like me.
Holy crap. <3
In other awesome news, ladies and gentlemen, it's what every fan of the Pilotwings series has been watching NoA like a Hawk (excuse the pun) for during the past 14 years, and just when we thought about giving up the wishful thinking:
Pilotwings Resort, a possible launch title for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS console.
( Scoll down, click the Nintendo Titles tab under the 3DS image, then pick Pilotwings Resort from the menu at right. )
So far, it appears that there are Mii-type things you can use when you play, some old favorites make comebacks (the Rocket Belt shown in one of the screenshots, what looks like Light Plane in another) and if it is infact a launch title for the 3DS, the estimated release date could be anywhere between June 2010-March 2011. I don't know about characters/levels, though. I doubt they're going to recycle them from the N64 version, which kinda sucks, but it's to be expected. Every game in the series so far has had different characters and different locales. But hey, it'll be nice to see what kind of characters and levels will be in THIS one. Hopefully some new faces to add to our favorites.
Literally, the ONLY thing that sucked about today was in my Pokemon Platinum file. Blazed through 20 trainers in a row at the Battle Castle, no problems, averaged 21-26 CP on almost every match.
Then Darach tears me a new one. i didn't even get past his Houndoom.
*shakes fist vengefully* NEXT TIME, BUTLER BOY!!
