So that's why I took a month and a half off!

I had my first two games of the summer season this past week. It had been a month and a half since I last stepped onto the ice, and now I realize why.

I skated hard, I played strong, I had quick reflexes. All things I was lacking at the end of the winter season. My body did not appreciate me playing 50-some odd games over the winter. Every muscle in my body ached and my playing, especially in goal, suffered because of it. But now, I'm ready for hockey again! Yeah!!

So onto some real news, for those who haven't heard, Amy and I have gotten engaged! It happened about two weeks ago. We haven't completely finalized the date yet, but there is a strong push for Halloween, 2009. A regular formal wedding, but an awesome Masquerade Ball for the reception. We are tentatively planning on handing out little black masks at the reception and make it all sorts of fun with decorations and whatnot. Plus it will include orange, and we all know my obsession with that color.

Amy and I have also been looking for a place to buy. We were thinking of a townhouse early on in the search, but it appears that we probably won't be able to afford that, so now we're looking at some really nice condos in the Germantown area. Hopefully we can find something soon because the last day of our lease is July 31! We're going to talk to my bank on Monday and see what we can get pre-approved for. But, when we move...can you say party?
