Another thing that grates on my nerves when I hear it on the radio -- less funny than that last one -- 
is a Burmese military junta. Half of you newscasters pronounce it "hoonta". You get cookies! The other half goes with an English "j" and a schwa. You get tiresome, fast.
The second pronunciation has made it into dictionaries, so I can't really fault it as incorrect, but it's still annoying. If nothing else, I perceive hewing to the original pronunciations of foreign loanwords as a high register marker, and I'm sorry if it makes me an elitist snob, but I expect a high register delivery on the CBC.
Or just say "screw it" to foreign language literacy and read everything like it was English -- just like bona fide has become "bonnyfied", let's go, nota bene = "not a bean!", je ne sais quoi = "jenny says coy", zeitgeist = "zit jest", or just make shit up altogether, stick a random "x" in espresso or et cetera... of wait, that's already de rigueur.
