Second night in a row that I spend on Jessica, Bircan and Jenna's couch typing stuff up for my history paper.
I'm finishing up now - arguing that the quick conquest of the Aztecs was primarly a function of the Aztec political system, thier culture, and, of course, the superior Spanish arms and tactics.
Yay. Jessica said that I should enjoy getting an F because she took a hippie class called world history where they inculcated in her mind the idea that anything western has to be automatically bad because clearly it's been spoonfed down our innocent throats. lol.
Anyway, I feel bad not posting as often - especially since Alicia's latest posts have piqued my interest in lj. I'm just afraid that a couple years of engineering has robbed me of any writing ability that I may have thought I had before.
I'm going to a sorority formal tomorrow - something I figured Tara wouldn't be happy about, but when I told her she veritiably flipped out. Turns out the girl is in her African Drum and Dance Ensemble and was treasurer but is quitting. Tara told her to find herself a replacement, but Mary (this girl) refused. Anyway, bad blood there apparently (and, ironically enough, Tara wrote her a bitchy email about 5 minutes before I told her that I was going to the formal with this chick). Drama, man.
Oh, I could write an ode to Bircan's cat - kopuck. It's a snow white persian that is seriously the cutest thing ever. It sits on top of the TV all night just looking around. Sometimes I look up from my gorey quote about spanish steel splitting aztec obsedien and flesh with impunity and see Kopuck just staring off into space, so intently. I honestly have to wonder what she's thinking about - animals don't stare that intently at anything unless they're about to kill it. Maybe it caught the nuts-bug that's been flying around this room ;) hahah, kidding. almost.
Oh and it comes and sits on your books when you're reading - a hopeless grab for attention, but you can't turn down a snow-white persian seeking attention. Shit, I'd put my baby down in a pit of alligators and snakes to makes sure Kopuck didn't step in a puddle...
Louie's birthday is Saturday. It took us about 10 minutes to figure out that we shouldn't put him on the evite. We didn't, but louie if you're reading this, just come to 1 west on Saturday at around 7.
Ok, well I'm on my last point of the essay, so I'd love to finish it up. I'll try to post more as my life gets more interesting. honest.
