*after a wash of nautical notes about the state of the boat and the ship's heading*

We stopped in Vinay del Zexay and took on two seamen to help round out the crew a little more for this trip. We're not full up, but for the purposes if this we're fine. All mates are hale and hearty. Landis is two men in one, since he can fly to the tops instead of climb.

I picked up [whatever it was that Cecile wanted from Vinay del Zexay] for Cecile and shipped it to her out of my pocket money; Budehuc gave me haven and free room, so that's the least I can do for her crew.

I haven't seen a harmonica for Alanis yet but I'll keep an eye out. Maybe someone on the crew knows how to spy a good quality instrument.

We're down at [geographical location here]; waters are a bit rough this time of year, but we're fine. The Long Sunset wasn't really meant to be a ship for long journeys, but she's a damn sturdy thing, built to withstand moving with the speed of a Flow Rune, so she'll be all right. We are going to use the Rune if the waters calm, push us a little faster toward the Islands.

Henry on the way up here got writ to trade in the next port, Le Havre des Chats, so we're going to do some trawling on our way there and bring in hopefully a good haul. I'm sure Landis'll like helpin' to bring in a huge net fulla fish.

Hope everyone back in Budehuc is okay. Haven't heard much talk about the Harmonians in the ports we've come through, though I've heard politics through the continent are tense in general. Seems like politics are always tense though. It's why I always avoided'em.
