One Year Mark

May 14, 2008 20:09

So, next Tuesday it will officially be a year since I graduated from college. Crazy, right? I think so. And the brilliant thing is...I still have no idea what I am doing with my life!

Working at Spaulding has been great...I've really enjoyed it. The faculty, staff and students are all wonderful. With a few exceptions. I would like to work there full time next year, but alas, there is not a position available. And I can't afford to not know when I am going to work.

I also can't afford Lotus Lake Discovery Center next year, either. It's a great job, but they just don't have enough money. And I sympathize with them, because they are not quite sure what they are going to do for extra staff next year, but I need something that can pay the bills.

And so the job search begins. If I don't find something that I like by the end of the summer, I have told myself that I will take a stupid job that I hate to make some money. What with the recent purchase of a near car (that totally belongs to the bank right now), I need some cash for payments.

I think I want to teach again. AHHHH. Haha...but I've really enjoyed being at Spaulding. And I think that I would like to try high school history. I still have a couple of years before my free tuition deal runs out, so I think I am going to apply to Johnson State and look at their external degree program about tacking on another BA. I would do an MA if I could, but that's not included in the deal. Dumb.

So that's where I am right now...I'll update as to what's going down with all that stuff.

subbing, real world, job, discovery center
