My SIL is from Brasil and speaks Portuguese. It is a very pretty language! And I love how my brother drops portuguese words randomly into conversation now. *grins*

I'm trying to fit words in too, especially when I'm being waited on by a native speaker. It's amazing the smile you get when you say "abrigado" after being served.

I lived in Brazil for 8 years when I was kid. Portuguese from Brazil and Spanish (specially from Argentina) are very similar because of the large Italian imigration in both places. A lot of word in Italian got incorporated in the language.

I use to be fluent in portuguese, I need to practice!
