Cheetor knew it was a bad idea, but that didn't stop him from doing it. Meeting a Decepticon in a secluded space alone without telling anybody? This was the sort of thing Optimus would kill him over.
The way he saw it, it was the lesser of two evils. He had a way of defending himself, should Shockwave try anything, and learning to use his powers was a lot better than sitting in his apartment, worrying if he was poisoning any of his neighbors. This was a calculated risk. He wasn't some dippy kid anymore, he could do this.
The air inside of the warehouse smelled cool and faintly of mildew and dust. He didn't like it. He didn't like not being able to run, either. This was such a bad idea. But he remembered how Sentinel didn't even bother to tell him that he was going to risk every civilian's life when he went out last Friday, and Cheetor was the one who had wound up hauling him to the hospital. If Sentinel didn't care, why should he? At least no one else was in danger over this.
