WHO: The Scarlet Witch and the REAL Hawkeye.
WHERE: Begovo Brdo,
Serbia and Montenegro.
WHEN: Noon, Sunday.
SUMMARY: Wanda took Clint away to her home, so he could get his mind off of his future and she could get her mind off of the present.
FORMAT: Paragraph.
Wanda packed a few belongings--enough clothes and supplies to fit a satchel and teleported them to the only place she knew that meant safe and sound and relaxation. Mount Wungadore contained a tiny village nestled at the foot of its high peaks in the independent country of Transia. She had no family there back home and again here, but she spoke the common tongue and could guide Clint through the narrow streets of her birthplace.
But, as she teleported them to the perceived location, she was met with a different town in a different country.
Begovo Brdo stood in place of her once beloved home and she broke down in tears and rage, ready to blast the village apart before she thought of Clint and what he had seen. She bottled up her emotions bubbling inside her like hot lava and took up a room in a
Bed & Breakfast.
Wanda needed the quiet and peace these...lands offered her even if it wasn't her Transia...her home. She took away Clint's communicator and only checked her own when something caught her interest such as Mystique's futile attempt to start a Brotherhood. Otherwise, it was eating, meditating, sparring, swimming, and just teaching Clint about her culture of the region.
He was far different from her Hawkeye--the haunted man from the torture and death of his wife and children. She did not bring his counterpart up in conversation. Instead, she focused on Clint's life and his problems, helping him through them step by step.
Perhaps she believed this would bring good karma on her. In Clint's world, she was to go mad and kill, maim, destroy. In her own world, she was to die by a simple bullet.
There had to be something she could do right.
On their last day, she packed a basket of bread, cheese, and wine. Wanda then forced Clint outside of town and led him to
a meadow where they could sit and enjoy their last supper before the real world dragged them back in.
