[it should come as no surprise to either of them -- or so Glinda hopes -- that she indeed faced minimal difficulty pressing the required buttons in order to enter the elevator and make it go down two floors, to where Elphaba resides. she is precisely on time for dinner -- she supposes so, at least, but can't be entirely certain, what with the time in this alternate reality not being quite the same -- Glinda sincerely can't imagine what reason they have to omit an hour from their clocks, and makes a sort of mental note to ask Elphaba about it later as she waits for the elevator to finish its descent.

none too happy about having to leave her current, extremely unfortunate residence in the same gown she had already been seen in that day, and without a smidgen of makeup on her face to boot, Glinda regardless trots her way down the corridor until she finds the door to Elphaba's apartment and knocks. if it's Elphie, she thinks it will be somewhat less scandalisizing.

she is glad there is no one else in the hall.]

[Elphaba stands up a little too quickly, and rather gracefully hits her knee against the edge of the table in the process. She makes her way over to the door, and opens it an inch or two, on the off-chance that it isn't Glinda. Not that anyone else has so much as thought to visit her over the past two weeks, but it doesn't hurt to be unusually cautious]

[but there, indeed, is Glinda. Glad that Glinda's found her way down, but not wanting to comment on that fact, so as not to let her know that she had worried just a little, Elphaba smiles at her, and opens the door all the way]

You look-[Elphaba begins, wanting to say something reassuring. She knows that Glinda must be fussing over her lack of make up]-better.

[she returns the smile, although one corner of her mouth pulls up at the words, rendering it crooked in a rather sarcastic manner] Than before? That's hardly indicative of much, now is it?

[she stares rather blankly at Glinda, as if she's not entirely sure what's expected of her. She made the effort to pay her a compliment, and that should be enough]

Not that it's difficult, but you're showing a vast improvement.
