WHO: Todd Tolensky and Lorna Lensherr OH GOD THE ALLITERATION. WHERE: Brotherhood Central. WHEN: Saturday, May 30, early evening. WARNINGS: Possible cuteness. Also Todd. SUMMARY: Todd's checking on Lorna. 8( FORMAT: Babies
Lorna had just been floating in the middle of her bedroom, thinking about stuff and certain people when she heard the knock. When Todd's voice followed after, she smiled a little and set down on her feet. Curious to what he wanted, she set out to open the door with her powers. Hopefully there wasn't a problem with the team, or something.
"Uhm, sure." She called out as she let him inside.
Grinning a little, Todd ducked his head and came in. He was way too used to creepy stuff like doors opening on their own to be phased by that kind of stuff, and it was Lorna, after all.
"Hey," he said, a little awkwardly. "What's up?"
Not like he was gonna ask right out if she was okay, but. Well. Maybe he'd ask eventually.
"N-not too much." She told him. It was a quiet day, really. Nothing too horrifying was going on in the comms, and she was listening to Pietro about not talking to psychos for once. "I was just floating and stuff."
Didn't seem like she was going to volunteer any information. Crap. Well . . .
"I was just wondering," he said, shrugging slightly. "You seemed pretty upset the other day about that Penny chick." After a pause, he added, a little less pleasantly, "And what Pietro said about you and her."
"Oh." She gave a little shrug. "She's kind of a jerk! And I was mad because she was just talking and talking about how great humans are to us. Then Pietro said I was jealous of her. And I know he said it because Doctor Horrible loves her. Hmph. He's a jerk too."
She nearly sulked at that last part. "I'm okay now."
There was a brief awkward pause, and then he added quickly, "I mean, what she said. Like, it don't make sense, from what I've seen. I mean, what else did she say?"
He wasn't sure she was okay, but he didn't want to get into it, really . . . it sucked when girls got upset.
"Oh! I told her I didn't like humans because of how they treat us. But then she said humans were all good because of some doctor guy!" It was only half the story. Though Lorna disliked Penny for those reasons, she actually was jealous of her too.
Lorna was unsure if she still liked Billy that way, but it didn't matter. Penny was still a jerk.
"Doctor guy? What the hell?" Todd grumbled, leaning back against the door. "Sounds like somebody's never lived in their life, yo. 'S like you just have to look out the door to see how people treat us."
This Penny chick did sound pretty stupid. Todd couldn't blame Lorna for disliking her.
"I know! Ugh." Lorna was quite glad he was agreeing on the subject. Everyone else seemed to like Penny for no reason, so she was really hoping that the Brotherhood would not. "I don't think she likes me either, but I don't care."
Lorna still didn't understand why Billy was such good friends with her. Hmph.
"You know if Pietro likes her too?" Todd mused, echoing Lorna's thoughts. It'd be pretty weird, but he didn't get Pietro right now. Hell, like he ever had, but right now it was seriously unusual. He'd even been honest about a couple things.
Weird. Weird.
"If she doesn't like you, she's missing out," Todd muttered under his breath.
"I don't know." Lorna admitted. She honestly didn't know who her brother was friends with, or even who he was just fond of in the city. "Pietro's mean to everyone. I, uhm, wouldn't be able to tell."
Her eyes widened at the last thing he said. "Really?"
"Tch!" He laughed at that, smacking his forehead. "Yeah, that's Pietro all right. Heck, he could even like me and I wouldn't know it."
Rubbing the back of his neck, he shrugged awkwardly. "Yeah, well. You're really nice, is all. And smart." When you're not being buddy-buddy with monsters and Magneto, but . . . "I don't know." He cleared his throat. "I just think she's being lame if she doesn't . . . get that. Or whatever."
Todd just snorted and shook his head. "Nah, I'm the Toad. It ain't important really who he likes, 'cause it ain't me. We just know each other from a ways back, that's the only thing."
Blanching slightly, he shook his head again. "Nah, not really, but thanks, I guess." Taking compliments? No way. She had to be lying.
"Oh." Lorna remembered the list of reasons Pietro gave her as to why Todd was gross, but she wasn't really bothered by any of that. Todd was merely another mutant, and sometimes mutants came with other things. It was just part of who they were. "So you went to that school with Lance and Pietro, right?"
Lorna frowned at his weird thank-you. "You don't believe me."
"Yeah, well, we lived in a boarding house together, and we went to a school with a bunch of goody-goodies - the X-Men, yanno?" Todd scratched his head absentmindedly. "But they're not really my friends." After a pause, he added, "Blob was my friend, but he ain't here."
Laughing slightly, embarrassed, he said awkwardly, "Naw, not really, I don't. Sorry, Lorna."
"Uhm, sure." She called out as she let him inside.
