Where had that bastard gone?

Like a fucking rag doll. How pathetic. For a big guy, Greed was certainly easier to toss around than Envy had expected. But then again, this was the sorry excuse for a monster that had been stupid enough to let himself be sealed for God knows how long. But still, even a blow like that wasn't going to keep Greed down for the count.

That's why Envy chased after where the body had flown-- to finish the job.

But something distracted him.

There was this constant hunger, this perpetual craving that festered like an infected wound inside this homunculus. A twisted coil of hunger for vengeance and the most self-consuming jealousy. He hated all of humanity, wanted to see them suffer and bleed and cry and be crushed beneath each other's feet. But more than that, he thirsted to destroy the children of his bastard father.

Catching sight of Alphonse, Envy's lips spread to bare sharp teeth.

"Well, well."

Envy glanced around him-- the area was chaos, people were screaming. Music to his fucking ears, pathetic little human pigs and their squeals. As a man ran by, Envy caught him violently by the arm, jerking him backwards so suddenly with superhuman strength that bone snapped. With a little snarl, the homunculus twisted his victim's neck before tossing the limp body into the air.

"This one is for you, brat," he hissed, pulling a leg back and snapping it forward, a fierce kick sending that corpse flying at Alphonse.

The recognition in Envy's eyes was unsurprising, even amidst the panicking crowd. Hohenheim's genes were strongly present in Al--in his world, he and his brother were the only other ones to possess the unique combination of strangely colored hair and eyes, though perhaps this Envy had once had them too.

No intent to mince words, Al moved to attack, but the homunculus was too quick, his victim too close. Al had barely taken a few steps forward before the man was dead, the body being used as a makeshift projectile.

Instinct compelled Al to leap out of the way, clapping his hands and slamming his palms to the pavement even as he landed in a crouch. Light sparked over the distance between them, the ground around Envy shooting up in an instant, jagged and deadly. There was none of the detail or finesse usually found in Al's transmutations; Envy's actions had already proved this fight was going to be nothing less than brutal and to the point.

Al spared only a quick glance to the man on the ground, the corpse's mouth hanging open, its neck twisted at an unnatural angle. More would join him if Al didn't finish this soon, and the knowledge that could just as easily be Ed lying there was never far from his mind. Al let rage override any lingering sense of disgust, keeping his focus carefully in check.

"Really, Envy--is that any way to say hi to your little brother?"
