WHO: James Bond and Selina Kyle WHERE: Selina's apartment WHEN: Night of the 24th SUMMARY: Selina's bummed out about working for Black Mask. James pays her a visit. WARNINGS: Bond? FORMAT: Whatever
Whether she liked it or not, James was coming over. If she'd chosen to decline his request to visit, he would have still shown up to check on her.
When he arrives, he's good enough to knock, lingering at the door with the consideration of just breaking in instead, but that's apparently rude to do. So he's told.
The door is more securely locked than usual, and it takes her a moment to let him in. And she does so quickly, pulling him in.
He might not be used to so many cats coming to investigate his arrival either, but it seems they're picking up Selina's paranoia as well. Hopefully he doesn't mind being sniffed by the leopard.
Selina's already poured him a glass before she bothers to speak. "Hey."
James wasn't quite expecting to be hurried in as much as he was, nor was he expecting the cats to be quite so inquisitive. The leopard inside the apartment is something else entirely and even though he's got familiar with Ramus in the past, he can't help but be mildly hesitant at the close range.
"Irena Dubrovna was hired by a new gang for a job," she says as she takes her seat again. Selina trusts James remembers the alias. It's how they met, after all. "Turned out to be Black Mask."
Reaching for his glass as he trails after Selina carefully, dropping down in the space beside her while keeping an eye out for any cats he might get too close to. "Did she take on the job?"
"Yeah. Shook his fucking hand and everything." She stares at her glass, setting it down instead of taking a drink. "Easiest way to find out what he's up to, right?"
Then, a little quieter. "Damn lucky he didn't recognize me."
"It's diamonds. Still likes them." Ramus comes over to nudge her knee on the opposite side of James. She rests a hand on his head. "Yeah. Then I have to figure out what to do once I'm in. Killing him didn't help."
"Of course it's going to piss him off." She glances over at him and the worry is clearly there in her eyes. Because it's James and the other people in her life that she's truly concerned for here.
He sighs lightly, leaning to get rid of his glass on a nearby table and curling his positioning in towards her with an arm looping around her shoulders. "There's no sodding way you or I are going to live with all this concern and fear. We strike out and if there's retaliation, so sodding what? We probably would have got it with or without our initial attack."

"Beyond fucking up his entire set-up, there's not much you can do. And even that'll just piss him off, I assume."
