[It wasn't necessarily difficult to spot. While not the most swarmed place in the park, the entrance to the cave was definitely covered. Baroona himself was struggling to fend off a number of... he wasn't quite sure. Tentacle demons weren't really something that he dealt with regularly. Couple that with the fact that his knives seemed to be doing very, very little damage the situation did not look good.

At the moment he was sporting a couple cuts, bruises, and his knives were tangled in another creature's tentacles. Which didn't help when a tentacle creature was currently looming over him.]

[It didn't take long before Tom fought his way up to the cave. Not that he thought he was having much effect against these... things, but at the very least, he was tearing into them enough to slow them down for at least a little bit, and he wasn't stopping anytime soon.

The werepanther went for the creature that had caught Baroona's weapon, figuring Baroona wouldn't want to necessarily be rescued, even though that was pretty much Tom's intent right now, and, with graceless, primal movements, he tore into the monster, all claws and teeth. He'd have time to feel disgusted by that later.]

You okay, Baroona?

[broroona]

Fine.

[So grunts the boy who is currently getting tentacle-dragged into a creature's mouth. Luckily, his knives are free enough for him to snap them back into his hands, stabbing upward into the monster's mouth when he's close enough. The monster loosens its hold, and Baroona deseparately tries to squirm free.]

[Tom helps by also tearing into the creature that has Baroona before moving to stand between it and the boy. His fur is bristling and he's all claws right now. It's not something that Tom likes or wants to be, but for now he's embracing it.]

Good. If you need anything, get it now. We're leaving.

[Which is the nice way of saying "follow me or I'm carrying you out of here."]

[broroona]

[Baroona's already turned his attention onto another monster. Without turning back to Tom, he speaks.]

Says who?

[borntobewildcat]

Says me. [He growls, tearing into another creature, teeth ripping where, he assume, a jugular might be.] Are you coming or not?

[broroona]

I can handle it.

[He cuts a couple tentacles off of a another creature, which really only seems to anger it.]

[borntobewildcat]

[Yeah, Tom isn't buying that, nor is he having any of it, and once he pulls his leg free of some of the tentacles, he quite unceremoniously picks up Baroona and hefts him over his shoulder.]

Wrong answer. You can't stay here, Baroona, so just cut anything that gets near us!

[broroona]

[Oh heeeeeell naw. Baroona is kicking you, Tom. Kicking you hard. In... wherever his leg is closest to.]

Put me down!

[Totally ignoring the demons in favor of trying to wrestle free from Tom.]

[Tom yowls as he's kicked in the side, dropping Baroona and turning to snarl at him indignantly, also forgetting about the tentacled beasts.]

Dammit, Baroona! Fine, then are you going to run too? Because either way, you're coming with me, and if you won't then I'm knocking you out.

[broroona]

You really think you could?

[Turning away from Tom to slice off a finger from an approaching creature, whipping the knife back to slice what he thinks is another's throat.]

If I have to, but I'd rather not when we're in danger of some otaku's weird fantasies.

There's no reason to stay here.

[broroona]

... Otaku?

[He glances back to ask OBVIOUSLY THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION HERE]

[Tom starts to explain, but a tentacle grabs onto his tail, earning a sharp yelp from him as he spins around to claw and scratch and pull his tail free.]

I'll explain later if we survive this, which depends on you leaving... Right now.

[broroona]

[One look back at the tentacle creatures seals that deal, although he's still reluctant.]

Fine.

[Tom finally pulls his tail out of the suction-cupped grip, inspecting it and gingerly.]

The cave will still be here later, and you'll be safer at my apartment until this whole thing blows over. Are you good to make a run for it?
