But as nice as that flustered look on him was, they still had some burns to deal with. Rather, she had burns to deal with; it was hard to tell if his skin could burn. Terra was pretty sure she could already feel her skin blistering over in patches. Leaning back and lifting both her hands to her chest, the build for this spell was much quicker than the others; there was barely time for an inhale before she murmured the name.

With "Cure three," a glittering barrage of white stars burst to life like fireworks, if the sound of explosions were replaced by chimes. Every scrape was sealed up, every bruise blotted out, blisters undone; in the few seconds it took for the spell to run its course, Terra had visibly gone from beaten and bloody battlefield escapee to looking like she'd just rolled out of bed. The same could have been said for him, if he ever wore his damage as superficially as she, but the spell burrowed beneath the skin as well. Even muscle aches were taken care of.

When the stars cleared, Terra gave him a once-over, hoping it had caught everything.

Sure, it was magic, but it wasn't as to-the-grindstone as spells from his world were, and it was more than a little strange to have such a sudden turnaround from beatdown to upbeat in a matter of seconds and -- chimes? So weird. Zelgadis blinked more than a few times throughout the little blizzard of starlight, almost unwilling to breathe any of it in.

His shoulders sagged when he exhaled, all said and done, and he caught her look on the tail end of that once-over.

"I need to learn that one."

It was not a surprising want, and Terra wished they could swap skills as easily as that -- but without the Magitek process, or some windfall of Magicite, the magic of her world was held within her alone here. She didn't even know if the Magitek transfusions were even a viable option as far as Zelgadis was concerned, considering his physical form right now, but neither were things she wanted to suggest.

The options being him driven to madness or her outright killed again were hardly topics she wanted to bring up.

So instead, the smile she wore eased up some when she said, "there's a few of yours I wouldn't mind trading for," and with little other fanfare leaned forward to press a quick kiss against his mouth.

If that wouldn't distract him from thinking about her hypothetical death, she wasn't sure what would.

He had hardly expected it, that little kiss. Perfectly harmless, if all was considered, but he was distracted from thinking in general. Sheer impulse had him following her as she retracted until thinking kind of happened and he withdrew, head drooping bashfully. He pursed his mouth, as if doing so would have made the kiss more substantial, but of course not. Rock doesn't yield to things like that.

It seemed to be enough, judging by the smile on her face. Good. No mentionings of Magicite or dying. And he hadn't flipped out! Things were clearly looking up. She dropped her hands to the ground, pushing to stand up...

only for a sudden wave of dizziness to sweep over her, knocking her off balance to fall right back over, arms flailing.

Well that--

"H-hey--!" Not that...he had been thinking of much of anything outside of the immediate present, but. He really hadn't expected to have to catch her, so...one arm managed to get hold of a shoulder, but the other one was all wrong, almost an involuntary guard that wound up propping her up, elbow on shoulder, wrist on clavicle. It was weird. But he was more concerned with the falling than the catching.

"Hey, what's wrong? Are you alright?" Both hands got a shoulder to keep her steady as he fretted.

Her own hands scrambled against him for purchase, and her feet skidded on gravel below her; she looked as startled as he sounded. With a few fast, hard blinks, Terra shook her head, more to clear her thoughts than to answer a question. "I think I stood up too fast," was her embarrassed explanation, trying to catch her balance in the awkward support.

That was obviously somehow his fault, too, he decided, his mouth tugging an uneasy frown. He shifted and set to rising, taking Terra with him as carefully as he could manage, becoming less of something to fall on and more something to lean on.

"From using too much magic?" he offered, still concerned. Nothing was ever simple, not even harmless things. Not in his experience.

...Well. Unless it was just Amelia falling off of stuff. But that wasn't the case.

There was much less of a chance of falling now, but Terra leaned a little more of her weight than strictly necessary on the support Zelgadis provided. The suggestion made sense. "Maybe," she conceded, attention turning inward. "I've never had to use that much that quickly. And some of those I've never used before..."

But for all that, she shrugged, nowhere near as concerned about the whole affair as Zelgadis was. "See?" she added, as though the conclusion were obvious, "You've gotten better since the last time."

He only made a reluctant noise at that, glancing away. Better at what - getting singed or beating up her? He was supposed to protect her, and it seemed like a pretty lame turnout if he couldn't even hold much of his own. Not that. He should have anyway. But.

He would confuse himself if he thought too hard on it, then and there.

"You should probably eat," he said instead, looking streetward. "Even if it is different, magic still burns energy."

She wanted to protest--she was fine, Zel, and if she needed anything it was a nap--but something about him gave her pause. Maybe it was the way he was holding her, or the way he wouldn't look at her face. His tone of voice, or his expression? She couldn't decipher any one thing alone, even if he gave her several hours and a cheat-sheet to do so, but all together it showed a very rough framework.

Terra tilted her head a little, scrutinizing his profile. "You're... worried?"

He looked down at her, blankly at first, then with a growing understanding that came with looking flustered. Just like that, he was talking hastily to the air nearby.

"W-well, I should be," he sputtered. "Why wouldn't I?"

The more agitated he became, the more confused she felt. "Should you?" she echoed. It was just a momentary dizziness, after all, and nothing from the battle lingered with even slight damage.

"Yes," he insisted, daring to look back. His face was probably at least twelve degrees warmer than the rest of him by that point. He almost couldn't stand it, feelings and things.

In a hasty attempt to drop the subject, he shifted - though not so fast as to send her stumbling or keeling over - and stood ahead, grabbing her hand. He was gawking at the street very intensely.

"So let's go."

If he was going to be so adamant about it, it would probably be useless to argue--even if she didn't understand what had him so worried in the first place.

So Terra conceded with a blank sort of 'okay,' letting him take the lead. She certainly wasn't going to make any arguments if the lack meant hand-holding.

Good. Yes. Good. He nodded, exhaling, and started to lead the way...

Then stopped, wincing, letting go.

"Hold on."

He had to go get his stuff.
