Angelica left their brownstone early, before any of the boys were even out of bed, and headed straight for Xavier's. She'd wanted a chance to tend to Sally's old garden before the day was too far gone and her other obligations took over. Today was a special day, after all. It was a year to the day when Pietro had taken her on their first official date, and a year to the day when they'd first made love. Angelica wasn't ever going to forget this day, and she wanted to be sure that their evening together would be something special.
Whoever would have imagined they'd have fallen so madly in love, when a year ago she was just a shy, virginal little thing, giddy with excitement because Pietro wanted to take her out for coffee. The past year had had it's ups and downs, but they were still together, and Angie still felt that rush of adrenaline when Pietro was near. Even when he behaved badly, she found him just as intoxicating as she had the first time he'd kissed her and held her close and made love to her. She still wanted and needed him as desperately as she had on this night a year ago, and she absolutely loved him more. All morning long her mind had been replaying the most sordid memories, and she prayed that there were no telepaths in the vicinity to accidentally pry into her most heated imaginings.
Angelica tried to nix that train of thought as she knelt on the grass, wiping sweat from her brow and smearing some dirt on her cheek at she watered and tended to the plants. It was early still, and she wanted to be sure the herbs and vegetables were getting some attention before the inevitable distractions of the day made themselves known. However, something told her that she wouldn't be left alone for very much longer.
