Victoria's Secret was having another sale. Kate knew this because the advertisements were plastered on the subway station walls, and from the gigantic billboard in Times Square. Normally, she wouldn't have paid it any attention, but it just so happened that she was in dire need of a new bra. She figured she may as well try being a thrifty consumer, it wasn't like she had the Bishop family fortune at her disposal for expensive lingerie shopping sprees. She wasn't exactly embarrassed about having to shop for bras; it was a necessity of life, really, and every girl with an ounce of athleticism needed a proper sports bra to wear. But it was something of a personal mission, and not one she was keen on sharing with any of the friends she'd made in the City.
Kate was just outside the Victoria's Secret shop when she thought she saw someone familiar out of the corner of her eye. A flash of red hair, something fleeting... Kate ended up doing a double-take before deciding it was no one, pausing to accept a coupon from the bright eyed shop clerk standing at the door greeting potential customers.
"Thank you," she smiled politely as she read over the fine print. It was better to know the terms of the sale before picking out something that was not included in the promotion.
